Director at Recommind

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Apr 22, 2013

Interview Details – The whole thing was pretty well organized... but they never tried selling me on the job until the very last interview. Made me wonder whether they were actually really interested, but I think they just didn't know that it's a 2-way street (I have to want to take the job).

Interview Question – None. All pretty straight forward.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I tried to negotiate, but they led with what they wanted to pay so they didn't really want to negotiate.

Senior Technical Consultant at Recommind

No Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA Oct 2010 – Reviewed Mar 23, 2011

Interview Details – Nice bunch of folks, with a straightforward interview process. No big surprises or trick questions. If have you have worked with a major search product, have some solid coding skills, and can communicate effectively, you will do fine. I met with several different folks in the consulting group and they were all pleasant. Some were more stiff than others, that could be due to inexperience. However, as a company, they do not have deep pockets so don't expect a killer offer (unless you are a bona fide subject matter expect in the search and classification field). Never the less, this would seem to be an ideal place to learn your trade if fresh out of school and willing to work hard.

Help Desk Tier I at Recommind

No Offer – Reviewed Sep 5, 2012

Interview Details – For the position I had a 1 hour phone interview with the group manager, an at home technical test that took 2 days, an in person technical test that was 4 hours in San Francisco, and then 6 interviews over 3 hours the following day. The whole process was very poorly organized, there were many typos and missed information in the technical tests, and the communication between groups was atrocious. The position was to be split 50-50 between two different departments that had completely different ideas of what the job entailed and what it's salary compensation should be.

Interview Question – Given the administrative console of their CORE software and a one page summary of the application I was given a list of tasks and problems to overcome in the software.   View Answer
