Interviewed Dec 2011 in Kansas City, MO (took 3 weeks)
I went online to apply for the flight attendant position and discovered they were coming to my hometown of Kansas City. So I applied and sent a email stating I wanted to attend the information session. Two days later I received a confirmation email to attend the Open house. On the day of the Open house, I arrived about 15mins before the session was to begin. I handed my confirmation, and they asked if i drove or flew. The also handed my an information packet about the flight attendant job. There were three recruiters, and they did a presentation that lasted about 2hours. After that the one on one interviews began. They started with people from out of town and allowed locals to interview the next day since locals are interviewed last and it could take 4-6hrs before they get to us. So i signed up to come the next day. The next day I showed up for the interview, and it lasted about 20-25mins. The recruiter skipped alot of questions with me since, I have previous airline experience.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
Before entering the presentation room you are asked if you flew or drove and handed an info packet. READ the packet while you are waiting. It is annoying to hear questions that the answers are within the packet you have in your hand. It's a waste of time and I think that the recruiters feel the same.
My advice is to eat breakfast & bring a snack! I was there from 8am to 3pm. There was water available but nothing else. Even the coffee / tea at the front desk of the hotel was MIA. The group interview was simple. They asked you to stand one at a time and introduce yourself and answer the question they asked as best you can. Some questions were:
If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
If you went to a costume party, who would you dress as and why?
If you could have lunch with someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
If you could be on a cover of a magazine, which would it be and why?
If you wrote a book what would the title be and why?
In one would describe yourself.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
Then you are given a packet to fill out, included in the packet is a page in which you are to write a short essay as to how you will make accommodations if you are given a base different than the one you wish.
Take out all piercings, except one in each ear. Cover all showing tattoos. Your look and how you present yourself matters! Plus assess yourself and really think should I, could I be a flight attendant?
Then you are to wait. If you are local, you are one of the last to be interviewed. There were only 3 recruiters there. The interview questions are typical. Some are:
Who is you greatest influence and why?
Why do you want to be a flight attendant?
What was an instance in which you had to act on? How did you handle it?
Is there anything that could make you not preform the duties of this job?
What is your first and second choice airline? (you are allowed to pick among, Chautauqua, Shuttle, Republic, or Frontier, however they are not hiring for frontier now)
How would you make it work if your base was somewhere you did not expect?
Then you are told you may not hear from them for 5 weeks. They called me the next day.
Pay and benefits are explained in the first packet you receive before the presentation....
Flight Attendants are members of a Union, guarantee 75 flight hours per month, starting pay is 17.49 per flight hour for the first 6 months and you get per diem each hour you are away from base.
Training pay is Indiana minimum wage $7.25 per hour, 23 days of training 6 days a week. Per diem is offered to those outside the Indianapolis area.
OK hopefully this helps! I got the position and I was grateful for the postings on Glass door. I went into more detail. Good Luck!!! :)

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took a day)
They fly you to Indy the night before. You take a shuttle to the training center and sit in a room. Listen to their presentation of the company. They then ask you to fill out at 10 year employer form, and ask you to write out a paragraph about how you would make the necessary changes and/or living arrangements if you assigned to a base that you did not live in/around. Then each us went into an interview room separately.

Interviewed May 2008 in Indianapolis, IN (took 1+ week)
Straight forward interview with the hiring manager (manager of dispatch) and human resources recruiter. Basic normal HR questions you'd expect anywhere, a few dispatch related questions specific to the position. The hard part was actually getting to Indianapolis, RAH only flies you standby for the interview. My first attempt I made it to ORD, but couldn't get a seat on a plane to IND, so I had to turn around, go home, and try a week later. That part seemed unprofessional. But all told, it was a good offer and company to accept the offer.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
Initial contact with HR Representative had been on speaker phone which I found very distracting,
I thought the level of questions were easy and on target. I just wasn't prepared as I should have been.
I think the level of work would be great for someone who desires to be busy.
