Interviewed Feb 2012 (took a day)
Initially registered with RIM through their website and applied for the position there. Heard back from them after about a week. They gave me a time and asked if it was okay and I replied it was fine. There were 2 interviewers but only 1 person asked the questions. The questions were behavioral since this wasn't a technical job. The questions were standard ones and not tricky at all. The interviewer also rephrased things I had difficulty understanding.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Kanata, ON (Canada) (took 6+ weeks)
Started looking for full-time job around the end of internship term. I wished to stay at the same team since I'm interested in the task given to me. Discussed with my manager a few times. There wasn't any opening until the last week of the internship term. I was swiftly interviewed my manager and two colleagues, mainly discussed the technical area I will work on. There were a few real interview questions. The following background check and paper works took the most of time in the whole process.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took 4 weeks)
I found the posting online and applied through their website. I was contact by an HR rep first who had me go through your typical HR questions. then she send me up for the real interviews. Round one was a phone interview with field engineers (3-4 were firing technical questions left and right and about 3 silent listeners). Mostly technical questions and some HR type of questions. Second round they flew me to their HQ for a panel and a 1 on 1 interview with the executive director. The HR team coordinated a morning flight in and afternoon flight out with car service to and from the airport. Both sets of interviews were technical so know your stuff. All the people were very nice and very technical. I met a lot of people in the very short time I was there. Seemed like a great place to work.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Waterloo, ON (Canada) (took a day)
Setup a meeting date with the manager of the team for the position of Application Developer, he asked me a bunch of profiling questions such as what I look for in a company or where I would like to be in a few years. After this the technical interview started, this was heavily database oriented, do you know the difference between different types of joins, can you create schema with so and so relationships, etc. After this was the written part (on a whiteboard) where I was given a problem solving question...something along the lines of "how would you go about finding out how many mechanic shops are in this city, doesn't have to be correct but mathematically take me through your process". After all this (roughly an hour interview) I received a call back two days late and accepted the job offer.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took 2 weeks)
I made personal contacts with RIM to see if they had any openings and they had a posting they were about to open to public so i had advance notice. Had a call with HR, then a one to ones with all their senior staff. Interviews went very well.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Couple of reasons:
i was made a competitive offer with a little known company at time that was superior and offered more opportunities to travel.
The commute between downtown toronto, mississuaga and waterloo was extremly offputting. The design office needs to be an urban center if they want to attract fresh talent.

Interviewed Dec 2009 (took 5 weeks)
communication occured thru human resources department, not hiring manager directly. people were very nice and approachable. there were a total of 3 interviews in person, different groups from mechanical and industrial teams
based on the position i was interviewing for, there were times I had to go into great detail, but usually i just described the way i used to work and the experience gathered at my previous companies. there were no "hidden" questions, all the questions were straight related to the job requirements
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
