I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Restaurant.com (Arlington Heights, IL).

    Interview

Had a phone screen with the future boss. Heard back a couple days later that they wanted an in-person interview. I was interview by the boss and one of the staff. It was an average interview. They described the job, asked about previous experiences, and answered any questions they had. They were pretty honest in their answers, especially about the uncertain future about the company.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Restaurant.com in January 2015.

    Interview

I Was contacted pretty quickly regarding a phone screen and coming in for an interview. I thought the interview went well and enjoyed my time there. I sent a follow-up email to those I interviewed with and because it was explained that this position was to be filled very quickly, I thought I would hear feedback within a week, as promised by the HR Manager. After a week went by I emailed the HR Manager for a status update...I didn't want to seem intrusive by calling. I never heard anything back via email or otherwise. A few days later I saw that this position has been re posted to other job websites so I figured this was their way of communicating their decision. While the interviewing process went fairly quickly and the job seemed to be a good fit, a lack of communication to a potential or non-potential candidate is unprofessional.

    Interview

Had an opportunity to come in and see the culture of the place and sit down directly with people that I would be working directly with. They were a very welcoming group and were more than happy to try and give a good impression of what working there would be like. It was nice to feel welcome during an interview process and not glared at in the sense of being threatening or awkward.

    Interview Questions

    • Most unexpected question was a quick thought of the culture of the place after having just walked through and why in my estimation my personality would fit in this culture.   Answer Question
