Interviewed Nov 2011 in Tampa, FL (took 2 months)
I had 4 interviews over 2 months, all one on one and lasting between 30min-2 hours. They do not interview with a script, but rather have a conversation to get a feel of what kind of person you are. Very personable and detailed.

Interviewed Feb 2011 (took 1+ week)
The company has five core values the employees live by. In my interview with the store leader, she asked me to read the core values aloud, and for each one, pick a sentence I related to the most and a sentence I knew I might need to work on. My interview with the district manager was a little more intimidating, as she was very good with detail and asked specific questions about an answer I had given several questions earlier. My first interview was a phone interview with a regional recruiter. She actually put me on hold for a few minutes during the interview, which was a little surprising. At the end of the phone interview I didn't feel positive she was going to move forward with me, but alas, she did.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Short Hills, NJ (took 2 days)
What a ridiculous place!! This store in particular is desperately short of management - the "leader" sounds (never met her) very young and inexperienced, I heard through a contact that's true. Asst. and assoc. managers are leaving, they're perpetually short-staffed, and managers from other stores have to fill in and train the store manager. When I called she sounded so thrilled to have someone interested who has experience, but was too busy to schedule an interview. Someone called me back to schedule, and when I went in, they were - short staffed - and canceled (no one bothered to call before) because the asst. manager wanted to spend a lot of time with me to "really get to know me". They called me back to reschedule. This time I confirmed the morning of the interview before I went in. Met with another assoc. leader that "really wanted to get to know me", who launched into how some people are put off by the personal questions (really?) but I'd been warned by my contact, and played along. It seems to be more important to RH that you're such an engaging person by their standards than that you have managerial or sales experience. Of course, they have no interest in supporting your life outside work, they just want to know all about it and deem whether it's worthy of them. He barely talked about the company or store, and nothing about the actual job - I had to keep bringing the conversation back to business type questions and their hiring needs, otherwise we would have been talking about extracurricular activities the whole time. He wrapped up by saying they will absolutely get back to me the next week - unlike other companies, RH respects you and will get back to you either way. Never heard from them, despite emailing and calling.
Their interview process is supposedly 3 interviews with different levels of staff over a month or so. Turns out the guy that "really wanted to get to know me" had already given 2 weeks notice when he did the interview. Ironically, the sales staff looked like a really nice group of diverse, intelligent people.

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 3 weeks)
The office looks older from the outside than I would have thought considering their galleries. But maybe they are saving money. I wanted to interview to practice my interview skills. It was a good practice, the people seemed a tad bit fake, which is another reason I was turned off by it. I had a phone interview with someone from HR. Met with HR. Then met with the person who needed the assistant.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in West Jefferson, OH (took 2 days)
Phone interview with HR rep. After which she asked if I would come in and take some tests. These consisted of: Customer Service skills, 20-25 questions, multiple choice; Math Test, 40 questions (you can use a calculator - a lot of percentages); and a typing test, which was easy - you just have to look at a line below where are you typing and type what's there, example: "Mr. John Q. Smith". Each of the tests were timed. I had plenty of time to do all. After I completed the tests, the HR person told me I had passed and asked if I could come back the next day for an interview.
When I came back, there was a LOT of waiting around. I had to re-fill-out the application I'd already done on line. (Annoying) After that, I interviewed with 2 team leader and the HR rep. They took turns asking questions like: Tell me when you had to make a difficult decision - how did you approach the problem; Have you ever presented an idea to a boss, and they didn't like or implement this - how did you handle this. All of their questions were based around their CORE values, which are posted on the web - so read these ahead.
But, the real kicker is that this was a huge waste of time for me. The HR rep did not tell me that the Customer Service Advocates would be 'bidding' on shifts every quarter, based on a ranking system. I figured that after training, the employees would be given a shift, and that's it. I can't uproot my child's life every quarter - or, frankly, don't wish to stress about it every quarter...so I basically said, "This won't work for me.... thanks for the interview." The HR lady was stunned.
They called me back the next day and asked if I would be interested in part time, which I was, but after a week on internal issues, the management decided they didn't wish to hire part timers (which is fine with me, as I wasn't really all that interested in the drive.)
Something about this place rang a little fishy, as far as how they treat their employees, but I can't really put my finger on it.
The job pays $11 per hour.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 4 days)
Consisted of an email asking to pick a time listed on the email to come in to do a skills assessment. Came in to the Call Center and did a typing, customer service, math, and email test. Was told after I was done if I passed or not and was asked if available to do an interview right then.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Corte Madera, CA (took 2 weeks)
It is frustrating when you interview for a position all the way into the final round and they don't end up filling the position. That coupled with of positive feedback of your background, experience, personality. Took them weeks to get back.
