I was selected to be offered an interview after submitting my resume and talking to a Cloud Peak Energy employee at a career fair in September. The interview consisted of behavioral based questions, a description of the position, questions on safety and my opinion of the coal industry. Cloud Peak Energy has a strong safety culture and is looking for candidates who will independently make decisions will the safest outcome in mind. I was contacted several weeks after the interview by email asking if I was still interested in the position. A job offer was presented in the first apart of January along with further details about the specific job location.

Since this was an internship position, Cloud Peak Energy offered the standard hourly rate and benefits for a senior level intern student.

Found the job listing at my university. Signed up for an interview and got it. The interview was about 30 minutes long and they just asked me simple questions about myself. Very laid back people asking me the questions.
