Interviewed Mar 2009 in Brooklyn, CT (took 3 days)
They didn't really want much from me. They did a background check and a drug test and then started to train me. The manager didn't probe too much and was helpful in getting me in and out of this process as fast as possible. All it took was a paper application. They get a lot of applications but sometimes yours is the one thats chosen.

Interviewed Dec 2009 (took 4 weeks)
I applied online and several times for the same job I received a phone call from a store manager and then set up the first interview and I talked with her for about an hour. I left the store and had to call a number to take a personality test and after that I received a call the next day I needed to go and take a drug test and fill out paper work for background test. I received a call the next week from hr to do a phone interview which lasted a hour. The I was set up for the face to face with the distrist manager went well just waiting now on approval of my salary

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Buffalo, NY (took 5 weeks)
Interviewed with HR, was a great experience. Interviewed same day with DM, also very good. Then...nothing. Did not hear back for almost a month, then heard from a DM closer to my home, did the interview, was offered the job. Overall, mostly pleased, but the time between the first DM and second DM interview made me give up hope until I got the call back.

I gave what I was making now in a similar position, was asked if I would take less for more advancement. I said I would under the right circumstances, but he said that in "these conditions" (economic), he wouldn't ask anyone to take a pay cut, so we agreed on that.

Interviewed Sep 2009 (took 2 days)
It was a quick and easy interview with my district manager. We connected almost immediatley. He understood my position being unemployed, and with no experience in retail, I feel he took the easy road in terms of an extrememly low salary to begin.
I thought not very long and probably gave a sign of acceptance before an offer was even made. I felt confident I would get the job based on the interview, but didn't think I would be paid so little for what turned out to be quite a bit of responsibility!

Interviewed Oct 2007 (took 1+ week)
My interview process was a bit out of the ordinary because I was basically an internal candidate. I had some previous interactions with the hiring manager previously, so that was in my favor. Also, I had previously done some of the type of work that was required in this position.
Given the company's commitment to creating a positive work environment, I am guessing they will be more focused on hiring with that in mind. While qualifications for the job will still be important, they will likely be looking just as hard at candidate personaliites. If there are two people with similar experience up for the same position, the one who has a personality that is easy, positive, fun, could edge out the other candidate and get the offer.
