Interviewed May 2010 in Sunnyvale, CA (took a day)
I was contacted by a recruiter initially. I think they got my resume from the career fair in the college...
Had a phone screen interview, went well.. I think the interviewer was dumb since he dint understand any of my research projects.. Then I got an email from him asking to solve a C test, and I think i did really well, so I got a onsite call within minutes I sent the solution via email..
The onsite started with a simple C test... had some dumb and ambiguos questions..
None of the interviewers asked my about my experience or research project. They asked a couple of questions about my course projects. They asked me some intelligent questions, about how vectors are implemented in C++ etc.. Programming questions were more focused towards the product..
Overall, the ppl there dont know how to judge a person.. and I can say that since I interviewed with 8 companies, and got an offer from 7 of them..
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
They selected some "really" dumb people.. so i believe it is not the right place to work...

Interviewed May 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
I applied online and got a call from a recruiter the next day saying that a manager wants to interview me. I had the interview the very next day. The manager seems to be very strict on definitions and I found to be little disgusting. There were a couple of questions and he asked me Data structures question. He was uncompromising until I came up with THE solution he has thought of. Got reject an hour after the interview.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took 3 weeks)
I was first called on the phone by the QA manager. Then I was emailed in a few weeks later for an in person interview (took about 4.5 hours). It started with a 20 minute written test, I've been told it's for everyone they hire. They scheduled me with about 30 minutes each with 5 people who work in QA. Each person had 3-5 questions, logic and programming ones.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took 5 days)
- Contacted by the recruiter through an under-handed poaching exercise from my current employer. Following day was given a phone screen by a "senior engineer" and had travel arrangements made within a half hour of having completed that call.
- Traveled on-site to their San Francisco HQ to interview in-person on what was well-known to be a "bad day" within the company for doing any recruitment.
- The people doing the interview, while advertised as being "a great team" they had no interest in business knowledge or relevant industry experience. It is clear that they are trying to staff a crack team capable of executing the bare minimum of requirements dictated by somebody with a higher title than bringing real contributions to the table.
- They won't publicly admit to trying to penetrate the data de-duplication marketplace in public, but they're putting together a "team" to compete now that they've seen EMC+Data Domain, ExaGrid, Sepaton and the likes capitalizing on the storage market. It's a shame that this "team" is meant to be comprised of a bunch of coding grunts, not people with a real sense of the business space or with ideas that could improve their position in a well-evolved market.
- The shortsightedness of the company, along with a very ethnically non-diverse "team" is a recipe for disaster, especially for a relocation candidate. After meeting with them in person, I cannot possibly imagine taking the job even if it were offered, regardless of the price tag affixed.
- Despite interviewing for a "senior/principal engineer" role, the interview process was heavily geared toward recent college grads or even career-fair material. Not challenging, and they'd have been better off just putting a bunch of Berkeley grads in the room to take a written test - it would have at least felt somewhat more normal.
- The interview process was cold, barren and mostly devoid of discussion - it was one of those interviews where one could legitimately walk out wondering if they even had a position to fill, or were trying to burn some recruiting dollars before the end of the quarter to justify the next quarter's budget. Expense every penny you can because you won't get back the time wasted on this frivolity.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in San Francisco, CA (took 1+ week)
Interview process was very good. Recruiter was excellent. She contacted me the next day after I was referred, scheduled the phone interview 2 days later and then face to face interview 3 days after that.
Unfortunately, I made some silly mistakes during my face-to-face interview and did not get the offer.
Interview. The company has a great office in the middle of SFO downtown with the flexibility to work from their Sunnyvale office.
Brush up your C coding skills, data structures, algorithms and problem solving skills. practice a lot of coding before the face-to-face interview.
