Interviewed Mar 2012 (took a day)
Got an email from the hiring manager regarding the job. On th einterview there seems to be a great disconnect between the job description and what the manager wanted. The interview went very well over 1:30 hours. Furthermore, the manager did not respond to my emails of follow up or call. At the end he answered, stating " I already have two candidates I am going for". Thanks but no thanks, I dont need to work for a company which has such poor hiring practices.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Indianapolis, IN (took a day)
My initial contact was with a recruiter for Roche, responding to my resume submission. After an excellent interview I was referred on to the next step; a phone interview with hiring manager. That interview also went very well after which I was invited in for a 1:1 interview. The day of the interview I again interviewed personally with the hiring manager, a peer with responsibility for a different segment within the group, a marketing team leader, and the director responsible for the entire group. Each of my interviews went exceedingly well. The problem that I have, and want disturbs me the most is that I made it perfectly clear in each step along the way that I did not possess a certain skill set. My skills related directly to the missing piece, but I was not a perfect fit. Each person I spoke with directly addressed this "gap" and indicated that it was not an issue. This was the case up until my interview with the director who determined that it was a big problem. My interview was terminated and I was not allowed to complete the presentation component. In the end, I respect the decision and it is probably for the best for everyone concerned. While I remain convinced that I would have excelled in the role; there seems to have been a major disconnect between the recruiter, the hiring manager, the team and the directors vision for the role. I am extremely disappointed by the process and it has left a poor impression of Roche. This is unfortunate because everyone with whom I interacted was extremely professional, highly intelligent, friendly and seemingly competent.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Rotkreuz (Switzerland) (took 2 days)
2h Interview altoghter
1h with the recruiter:
Some information about the company, some common questions about my work. The recruiter talked more, what puzzled me.
1h with the hiring manager:
Very smooth talk. A lot about blood gas analysis and technology.
The real issue, uncommented, was how I would deal with subordinates.
Recommendation: Read the company's vision/mission

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Pleasanton, CA (took 3 weeks)
1st - phone interview with the hiring manager. Then invited to the company for a panel interview with 10 directors. VERY unorganized! HR person wasn't prepared to meet with me. Had to walk to each director's office. Everyone seemed preoccupied and uninterested. No lunch offered for a 7hr interview.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took a day)
3 interviews with a panel of 2-3 finance directors and managers. Interview consisted of general questions about your personality, prior experience, why you want to work at Roche, and why you decided upon your chosen career path.
I was notified of the offer a few weeks later and then sent an official offer. After that I had to complete a drug test. The culture was very relaxed. Business casual attire and the employees were all incredibly helpful and friendly.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in San Jose, CA (took 3 months)
I started off with a phone interview with the district sales manager, then met 1:1 with the same sales manager for an in person interview. This was followed by a panel interview in which I interviewed with the District Manager, Regional Manager, Automation Specialist and a Sales rep. The panel interview was the toughest part of the process.
