Interviewed Feb 2010 in Philadelphia, PA (took a day)
Standard interview for chain retail store, but very relaxed. Started off with a X-Y personality test, then went onto speaking with one manager. Standard background questions were asked.. Went on to another manager and answered the same questions. At the end (20-30 min total), I was told to call back since I was a "shoe-in". I called back at designated time, was put on hold for 30 mins after stating who I was, and eventually hung up on. I called back and no one answered. Key: retail experience trumps education level here. So much for an "entry-level" position...

Interviewed Jul 2011 in San Diego, CA (took 2 days)
Well, i applied online, and was called maybe a week later for a group interview. During the group interview, we introduced ourselve to one another, each person talked about what customers service meant to us, and our availablity. Once the manager figured out who would be best for the available position, she then schedules a few of us for 1 on 1 interviews. The questions where, tell me a little about yourself, how can you handle yourself underpressure, how do you work in a team, and again, availability. After i answered all of the question, the interviewer told me that we would keep in touch. I ended up getting a call later that day, and all the manager said was for me to come in the next day at a specified time, so i did, when i got there, she just gave me a packet and said welcome aboard. I had no idea i was actually hired.up interview, we introduced ourselve to one another, each person talked about what customers service meant to us, and our availablity. Interviewed May 2011 (took a day)
You apply online at their website. Ross dress for less careers.
You fill out the application and do an assessment test.
Then after about a month, I got a call to come into the store for an interview.
I first had an interview with the manager ( about 5 questions) then i had the interview with the ass. manager ( 2 questions) same day. same time. The ass. manager said he heard good things about me. We just chatted for a bit.
I was hired on the spot.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Bel Air, MD (took 2 days)
My first impression was that the employees were in a very bad mood. They didn't smile once. I thought it a bit strange. I waited in the front of the store for a manager to come talk to me. I waited for about 20 minutes until someone finally saw me. I then sat in a large room (which I guess was also their break room), and waited again for someone to see me. I waited 10 minutes until a woman came in to start the interview. They allowed the associates to eavesdrop on the conversation, which in my opinion is very unprofessional. The interview was very short, and the manager seemed like she didn't even want to be there. She was very unfriendly.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Chino, CA (took a day)
Applied online. Recieved call a week later. Interviewed next day. Store manager actually helped out with answers to easy questions. But didn't get offer.he seemed unorganized. Made comment about how he misplaces things/applications get lost. So, I wouldn't doubt my call back numbers being 'misplaced'. To be honest I wouldn't want to work at Ross.
