Interviewed May 2012 in San Diego, CA (took a day)
I applied online and within a week I received a phone call from them. The interview went smooth. He asked questions based on my experience and availibility. I think I got it because he said he was going to do a background check and they will see me in two weeks.

Interviewed May 2012 in Miami, FL (took 1 week)
I applied online; two days after, I received a call from an Human Resource Representative (SHE SOUNDED VERY NICE). She told if I want to schedule an interview for the next day, and let me choose the time. So the next day, I went there; it was a very friendly environment. One of the employee walked me to the store manager's office. She was extremely friendly, nice, and looked very easy going. She asked me basic questions about my availabillity, my past experiences and my education background. We talked like we are long time and very close friends. She was amazed about my education background and my plan in the future. She congratulated me, told me she like it when black women like her have such big dreams in life, and advised me to stay in school (SHE EVEN GAVE ME HIGH 5......HOW COOL IS THAT) She offered me the job right away and told me to check my email for paperwork and also a date will be given (THAT WILL BE MY VERY FIRST DAY IN THE JOB) and after that I have to call so for me to know the time to come that day (ALL THAT WON"T BE DONE UNLESS THEY GET MY BACKGROUND CHECK RESULTS). Later that day, I received an email from the background check agency with a phone number to call for the next step of the background check processus. I called right away, the lady asked me for a reference number that was supposed to be in the email, my SSN, my address and my date of birth. Till of today I am awaiting for the paperwork in my email. DON'T get it yet; It's been 4 days now. I know, I am clean, so I have nothing to be worried about. I am just waiting :)

Interviewed May 2012 in Oviedo, FL (took a day)
I applied online for Ross on Monday 4/30/12. I got a call two days later (Wednesday) for an interview the following day (which would be Thursday). I met with the Retail Supervisor, Lucia. She asked me basic questions about my previous work experience, why I chose to apply at Ross and what do I feel I would bring to the company if hired. At the end of the interview she asked if I had questions and informed me what I would be getting paid and the hours they would be able to offer me if I got the job. She then tells me she has to review over candidates with her manager and I should expect to hear back if I had a second interview. (She pointed over to a stack of papers of candidates already interviewed) I got an email later on the same day as the interview informing me they had decided to move forward with other candidates and to keep them in mind for future opportunities.

Interviewed Mar 2012 in Richmond, TX (took 1+ week)
Applied to Ross after seeing an in-store sign. The sign said that all applicants will be called in a couple of days. I received a call 10 days after applying on-line. The interview was scheduled for 3 days later.
The interview was conducted by the assistant and store manger. The questions were very basic.
1) Describe a time when you noticed someone stealing. What was the situation? What did you do? What was the outcome?
2) Do you think tardiness is acceptable? Why or why not?
3) Talk about your previous work history.
4) Why Ross?

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Fairview Heights, IL (took a day)
Applied online at a job board displaying openings at a new Ross location and was called several days later by the store manager. Set up an interview a week later and arrived at the store where the interview took place. There were four tables placed in the back manned by individuals who already work at other Ross locations. The total process took about an hour (including the wait to be seen). I was interviewed by two different people, so I thought I would be given a job offer, but nothing came of the interviews. The interviewers were friendly and informative.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in West Covina, CA (took 2 days)
One of the managers called me offering me an interview for the next day. Asked me about my education, how i have solved problems and what I was looking to be my career. She was really interested when I said I wanted to stay in retail and move up in a company. She then said that they would give me a call 5 minutes later when I was about to reach the car the security guy ran to catch me and tell me they wanted me back in the office. When i walked in the manager took me back to the office and offered me the job :)
