Interviewed Feb 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
This was a typical faculty interview where I had dinner the night before and then had a day packed full of meetings with different faculty. I did a research presentation. Everyone seemed pretty nice. I haven't heard from them yet and have only been told that they are moving forward. It's been almost 2 months since my interview and it's getting a bit frustrating waiting. I wish they would tell me if it is administrative red tape holding things up or if they have offered the job to someone else and are just waiting to see how negotiations go through before telling the rest of the candidates 'no'. My feelings will not be hurt if they will just be honest about why it is taking so long to hear yes or no.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Chicago, IL (took 6 weeks)
First, there was a phone interview. The second round was an interview with HR and then 4 30-min interviews with people of varying positions in the department. It was a very structured process which was nice. HR gives you benefits information and a little background of the department and the people you are going to meet before the department interviews. Each person is assigned a recruiter from HR. MIne was fantastic. She kept me updated through every step of the way and even called before my orientation to ask if I have questions.
