Interviewed Aug 2010 in Seattle, WA (took 2 weeks)
I was screened by phone by a recruiter in HR. I then had a conference call with the hiring managers. A few days later I was told I was one of two final candidates they wanted to interview in NYC. They went as far as asking my flight preferences. After turning my life upside down to arrange an unexpected trip, I didn't hear anything for a week. I finally called the recruiter and she knew nothing. She finally got word that they had pulled to position entirely - not hiring anymore. But I wouldn't have heard anything beyond "You are going to NYC" had I not followed up. I found it very unprofessional and frustrating. This was actually the second time I had interviewed with then in the last 5 years. Both times it was in the fall and both times they closed the hiring requisition after the second round of interviews. Be wary if you interview in the fall, I guess. They seem to post positions before the budget is really there. Either that or it's just a poor excuse for not hiring you.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Seattle, WA (took 2 days)
I was approached by an HR rep, which basically was the contact person throughout the whole interview. Interview was 2 parts: 1 phone interview, 1 in person. The in person interview was with 2 systems managers, both were very fun to talk to. The questions asked were very typical (tell me about yourself; how comfortable are you speaking with a random person over the phone; how do you handle multiple projects; etc). The phone interview was more of a chat with the department manager. He was in a rush and really didn't ask anything too serious. One question that I found difficult that was asked by the in person interview was, "If your car wouldn't start, what will you do?" That kind of threw me off, but he was looking for your thought process.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Seattle, WA (took 4 weeks)
Had an initial phone interview with HR, then a 4 hour onsite interview with two individuals and two panels. Then, later, had a second one on one interview. The interview was intense and thorough. Unfortunately they did not choose to hire me. I was very impressed with the company, the folks I spoke with and the position.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took 2 months)
Submitted resume online, HR contacted me about 3 weeks later to arrange for initial phone interview. Phone interview lasted about 40 mins and I was told I would be contacted to set up a one on one interview. First one on one took place approx. 2 weeks later, followed by 2 more interviews with senior executives.
Overall I was very impressed with the people I met and the whole process was extremely positive. Management seemed very knowledgeable and approachable. Russell is definitely looking for candidates at the top of their field with superior intelligence and experience. I think Russell is a stellar company and they really seem to look after their employees!

Three phone interviews with three Company representatives (although recruiter is contract employee). Was left hanging. For weeks. Finally contacted them to obtain decision. Did not expect this unprofessional behavior from this company.

Back and forth via e-mail prior to conversation. Conversation lasted 1hour and I was told I would be recommended for the next step. Salary was discussed during first call as well as relocation expectations. Next level never came. Interviewer was very personable, knowledgeable and professional.
