I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ryder System in August 2013.
Interview Details – Phone interview followed by a brief-in person and informational interview with the on-site Ops Manager. Initial contact was made by an off-site HR group in Atlanta. On-site management seemed to take a minimal role in talent evaluation outside of a phone interview.

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ryder System in January 2014.
Interview Details – Applied Online - Contacted by recruiter for phone interview (phone interview goes over your qualifications, interest level, skill set, salary req.) - Contacted a week or so later for a dual face to face interview. (More in-depth here: Goes over your background and company history, they want to know what skills you have as it relates to the position, you will be asked a lot of questions and they will note your answers...Hopefully you know Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word well). Next: Received a call to set up a phone interview with a higher up. Literally a 15 minute conversation briefly over my background. The rest was just getting to know me personally (likes, interest, family life). A sure sign it's a win! - Offered position the following day.
Interview Question – Explaining prior Microsoft Access usage was unexpected. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Countered initial offer, and they compromised fairly. Ryder's professionalism during this phase made me even more excited about working for them.
I applied online and interviewed at Ryder System.
Interview Details – Got a call to do a short question/answer interview over the phone. Then was setup for an actual interview with a supervisor. Interview went very well. Supervisor was awesome. Got call saying to complete background information. Less than 12 hours later, got an email with no explanation stating they chose some one else. Very disappointing!!!!
Interview Question – Describe a situation where you had to handle an irate customer and what did you do to resolve their concern. Answer Question
I applied in-person and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Ryder System in July 2010.
Interview Details – Very thorough. Background checks and drug test. Fair and honest, and they do a good job understanding who they are hiring which is good for you and them. Two levels of interviews involved, HR and hiring manager. Again, very fair and honest in their approach.
Interview Question – What is one thing about yourself that needs improvement? Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Ryder System in October 2013.
Interview Details – I found the position on this site Glassdoor. I applied the first week of October. I was immediately contacted that same week by a Ryder recruiter and he wanted me to apply for the Livonia, MI and the Highland Park, MI positions.
I had an interview the following week, which I had to interview with 2 different panels of 3 people in each group. Both interviews were for each locations. They asked logistic/supply chain questions and behavior questions. 95% of the questions were job related and 5% were general questions. Probably the hardest interview I have been in. Went from one panel to the next. Whole process lasted about 3 hours.
A week later, I had a 2 hour shadow at the Highland Park area with the Service Manager. Wanted to start at the beginning of the 1st shift. Basically, took me around and showed me the basic of the position. There is a lot of busy work and the candidate has to be organized, be able to multitask, and have great customer service.
A week & a half later had a 2nd interview with another panel of 3, which I have already interviewed with before. This interview was very simple. Only lasted about 30 minutes and just really wanted to see if I was still interested in the position and wanted to know how did I feel about the shadow. Just wanted to get to know me better and know how I felt about the job.
Interview Question – All the logistic/supply chain questions because I don't have any real experience in this field yet. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Ryder System in May 2011.
Interview Details – There were three interviews
Interview Question – Would I be able to work a midnight shift if possible View Answer
