Interviewed Jan 2007 in Walldorf, Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany) (took 2 days)
After having applied online via the corporate website I got a call from the responsible recruiter witin 10h (fastest response time I've experienced so far) inviting me for a recruiting day the week after.
The recruiting day started @8:00 in the morning and took approx. 5h and consisted of 10 applicants, 6 managers (project managers and vice presidents) and two people from HR which more or less only moderated the process and were not directly involved into the interview. It started with a general presentation about the company and the benefits they offer to the employees and continued with a 5min self presentation held by each applicant. Afterwards groups of five were formed and had to perform a case-study (model a business process and the involved entities in 30 minutes and present the outcome) while being watched by the managers. The next step were two face to face interviews with a manager that was pre-selected via some criteria. The recruiting day was concluded by a common lunch which was used to continue the interview in a more informal setting.
The next day I got a call from both managers I had an interview with inviting me for a second round of interviewing now on the senior vice president level and with their peer vice presidents respectively. Both interviews took about 1h and were rather informal.
Two days after the second round of interviews I got a job offering by both managers involved and they had agreed not to compete against each others in the negotiations and offered both the same conditions which were at the upper end of the announced scale but could not be negotiated.
