Interviewed Dec 2010 (took 2 days)
I had a hollistic view of my approach in mind. Synnex as an IT Distributor sits within the IT Channel as the 2nd line in the Channel to Manufacturer Vendors and at the time I was working for an IT Reseller that sat in 3rd position. I knew that what was required off me was how my skills developed within the lower half of the channel could be of value to a Distributor and the answers really are the relationships you've developed with the End User customers who actually procure to use but as well the processes within the channel that allows you to manage these opportunities from start to finish. Understanding procurement mindsets and their limitations, i.e. budgets, also helps.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
I was able to negotiate on my role, right down to the specifics of what I know best and how the company could make use of that. The values I was able to add were my desktop publishing skills, although Synnex had their own marketing division, I was able to generate ideas and generate my own marketing initiatives right through to the materials that could be distributed to assist with my propositions. The other was my history in training and education where I was able to use my focus in process improvement and the delivery of quality information through training and education.
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.
