Interviewed May 2012 (took a day)
They stated I was an outstanding candidate and a top choice after a standard interview (about 4-8 questions). The interviewer was really nice though direct and professional. I'm not sure if I got the job though, they said they would call a Safeway closer to me and recommend me and then I assume call me.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Burbank, CA (took a day)
I was looking for a job and my friend told me Pavilions (One of Safeway's affiliate companies-like Vons) was hiring. I applied online and later follwed up by calling the store to make sure they received my application, and whether or not they were still hiring. I spoke to hiring manager and she asked if I could come in that day for an interview. The interview pretty much wasn't an interview, it was more of a meeting to tell me what I was going to be doing. So I knew I was hired within fifteen minutes. From my hiring date to my actual first day of work probably took about three months. But, then again, this was all happening when they were about to go on strike. I kept getting told they would call me back within the next day or two and tell me when I should come in for my first day. Well they never called. Lucky for them, I'm persistent ;] I called every day for about a week or so, when finally they called me one morning asking if I could come in in like 2 hours because another new hire was a no-show.
Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation. All new hires start at $8.10/hour. with every 600 hours you work, you get a ten cent raise, up to $8.50. Don't quote me on that last figure :x

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took a day)
Easy interview, the HR was nice and she just asked me basic questions like "Why do you want to work for our company", etc. I got offered the job on the spot. Because another manager had a week off, I had to wait two weeks to start training, but I got the job.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took a day)
There was a skills test (very basic) and a personality test. The personality test is a joke to weed out vilent people who aren't smart enough to answer questions correctly. There was also a drug test (urine) at a different facility. Finally, a 1v1 interview where they tried to convince me it was really hard work to scare off the lazy people I presume.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
I set up what I thought was an interview, it ended up being an "informal chat", and I was basically told that I was a last choice for the company. The least the hiring manager could have done was let me know what was going to happen before it happened.

I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
