Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took 1 week)
Received a call from the recruiter to schedule a phone interview for Quality Engineer position in San Fransisco with a Technical Manager. After emailing back and forth regarding various date conflicts came to a common date for interview. At the time of interview got a call from recruiter that the manager got pulled in for a meeting so had to reschedule the interview again.
.
Got a reject within 2 days as they said i did not have enough Java experience.
I did not like the technical manager attitude as he was kind of not very nice to talk.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 3 months)
I initially had a phone screen with the internal recruiter, who suggested I have a one on one interview with the hiring manager. The following week, the recruiter informed me that the hiring manager wanted to meet me in person. Aproximately 2 weeks later I was asked to complete a presentation for a "Case Study". He emailed me the details of the case study and I spent seven days preparing for it. Approximately 2 weeks later I was advised by phone that the role had been given to an internal candidate.
A week after this I was contacted and advised that the company had increased head count and that because they were very interested in my background they wanted me back for a further interview. The following Monday I arrived at their office for a Video hook up with their VP and Hiring Manager to be advised that the meetig was cancelled and re scheduled for later that week.
Having waited 3 weeks after this video conference interview I was advised that I was to partcipate in a telephone conference call with their MD of UK who managed the Asia Pacific region. Following 2 postponements the date was finally set. O the day of the final conference call I sat on the phone for ten minutes waiting for the MD to join the conference call. When it was apparent he would not show I rang the internal HR and they advised they had just received a email cancelling the conference call.
However, the next week came and went with no update. The following week, I sent an email to the HR recruiter and did not receive a response. A few days later, the HR recruiter advised he found my email in his Junk Mail and that he was still trying to arrange another conference call. Following another 2 weeks I sent another email which bounced back with HR recruiter on anual leave. When I rang the HR department I was advised that all roles had been filled.
Having spent 3 months going through 6 interviews including a case study and then being asked to attend a failed conference call and then to be told that there are no jobs anyway? It is shocking to me that this is the way that Salesforce.com does business. I guess I should be relieved since I imagine this is symptomatic of how they treat their employees and customers.
This would be the worst process I have ever come across for the way candidates are treated.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
I'm an older worker. It became very obvious they wanted younger people in these roles. I met with 5 people individually, all under 30. Answered all their questions and walked out certain I had done well. Was informed by recruiter I was working with that I wasn't "technical" enough for the job. Total BS.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
The process started with the recruiter contacting me on a networking site. Once I responded with my interest, he arranged for a screening call which was quite pleasant. He gave a good overview of the role and also asked general questions about my experience. He then proceeded to arrange for the first round of phone interview with the hiring manager for the next day.
The phone interview with the hiring manager was confusing for me. He was working from home and hence, had line disturbances which was a distraction through out the call. But he was nice to talk to and came straight to the point of my relevance with the role. We spoke about my experience and my knowledge in salesforce.com. Though I was certified admin, I did not have much hands on experience in Salesforce.com. That did not seem to matter. What he was looking for in the interview was my ability to face clients. Which I think I did satisfactorily. The phone call lasted for about 30 mins. It went ok for me.
I did not recieve any update till 3 days excluding weekend. So, I got back to the recruiter with an update which was the only miss I found in the whole process. He quickly then updated me on the feedback and that they wanted to conduct a f2f. The f2f was at the NY office and included video conference.
When I reached office, we found we had problems with the video conference setting up and the interview was going to delayed. However it was well arranged by the recruiter remotely and there was no blame game going on there which I found a good thing.
The video conference was with a panel of 3 which included peers and senior to this position. It was more serious than the phone interview. It consisted of semi-technical questions like explaining concepts, role play and other questions like how to prioritise, time management, etc. Following the video conference, there were 2 more f2f 1:1 rounds with the hiring manger and the VP.
I recieved a verbal offer the very day which was lightening speed. It was a bit disappointing though in terms of position. They said because of my no of years of experience, they cannot offer senior position. I wondered if they had seen that before. The salary was decent. I accepted the offer because it was a great role and with immense learning opportunity. Overall, it was a great experience and a very smooth recruiting process.

Negotiation Details
The salary was decent but not upto my expectations. There was mild negotiation and they could increase only that much. It wasn't too bad for me and did not pursue longer. They were open to hear you though which was a good thing.
