First you come to see the HR manager. When you're qualified, you'll be contacted to interview with the retail manager. If passed, you'll be come to see the store manager. If you pass all three interviews, you need to wait for background check and reference checks, which usually take a month.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Madison, WI (took 3 months)
Got the job in october, but didnt start working until February of the following year. horrible horrible hiring management, people are very lazy, it never takes that long to let someone you have hired start work, simply because the one HR person has so many personal issues, its frustrating and disrespectful of ones time.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Cincinnati, OH (took 2 weeks)
seemed somewhat unprofessional. When I arrived the greeter was not very friendly. She acted like I was interupting her work. Staff was singing in the background. The interviewers (2) were friendly enough. They seemed like they were not very experienced at interviewing. I wasn't ask very many questions. Most of the time they spent telling me about the organization, which I already knew from my research. I paid a steep parking fee which I was not compensated for.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Fayetteville, AR (took 2 months)
Interviewer did not ask questions about my experience. He asked What I knew about The Salvation Army. He then discussed himself and his personal achievements. He discussed his plans for the future after he retired from TSA. Over all I didn't feel that he was interested in hiring me but was out voted by other management due to my experience

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Sacramento, CA (took 2+ weeks)
My interview was with the Director of Social Services. it was a fairly easy interview. The feel was as though I was talking to a supportive person. The organization was religious. The mention of religious views did come up in the interview.
