Started with the phone interview where they asked the regular slb questions of why slb? ever worked in a group? 8 balls and 2 weights, this stage was good. Next was the 2 day 2nd interview where 1st night was team skills, team bonding (breaking the ice) and presentation about the different departments of slb they are hiring for. you are then asked to pick your preferred department and location.
Next day, visited a slb location and given a tour, then the 11 interview of why the department of your choice, difficult situation questions and an aptitude question, then u are off,

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Midland, TX (took 2 days)
We were flown into Midland, TX for the two day interview process. The flight there was a little tight because my flight had landed only 1 hour before the meeting time. Furthermore, I had to wait for a couple other candidates because there was only one driver.
We arrived and was asked to do a small introduction to the recruiters (there were 4 during my trip). The introduction consisted of where you graduated, what field, your hobbies and they also asked you to choose: do a dance, sing a song, tell a joke. After that segment was completed we jumped straight to the presentations which we were given out prior to arriving in Midland. After the presentations, we were given a break for food. By this time its around 11 PM and we there were still more to do. We had to do a test, which we were asked build a catapult. My group came in last because none of us made a catapult before. Other groups thrived (I'm pretty sure they were given a heads up on the assignment). But, I also thought that the recruiters were looking more at how you communicated with other group members and not much the results. After the group project, we discussed benefits and finally was released to sleep (3 AM).
At 7AM the next day, we boarded a bus and visited various SLB locations. We met some of the field engineers over there and most of them looked exhausted. I appreciated them going out of their way to talk to us and tell us the actual work they did. One thing I realized was that most of them didn't smile as much as normal people do =)
We had lunch out in the field and then we visited one of the oil rigs. We got to witness the process of drilling and adding pipes. Do to the delay, we didn't get a chance to see the actual cementing part. We headed back to the hotel and was asked to do the final presentation on whether you feel the job is for you.
Overall the experience was one of a kind and really opened my eyes on the actual field work these engineers do. Good luck!

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 2 days)
They opened the hiring conference with an "ice breaker" set of questions. You told who you were, where you hoped to end up if hired, and what was you favorite color out the the four they offered. The color was associated with a task which you had to preform for the group (act out your favorite cartoon character, sing your favorite song, and stuff like that). Then you sit through a couple hours of of presentation about the company. After the presentation they break the group up into teams and have a Jeopardy style game to see how much you have picked up about the company and how you work together in a team. They then treat everyone to a buffet style dinner where they try to make things more personal with the interactions between the candidates and the recruiters/managers. After dinner they have more team building tasks where they want you to build something. Along the way they make additions or changes to what they want built. After the team building exercise they get you the coveralls for the trip to the training facility just south of Tulsa.
The recruiter that set up my trip to the conference highly encourage going to the bar before going to bed, so to prove I could be one of the guys with a drink or two.
The next morning everyone got on the bus and rode over to the training facility, spent 4 or 5 hours walking arould as a group. We got a chance to talk to techs who were recently hired.
After returning to the conference center they gave us a chance change for one on one interviews. The questions for the one on one where pretty general.
The whole ordeal is meant to be a way to root out people who do not want to or can not deal with high stress and high school like atitudes.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Very laid back interview process. Not a whole lot of information was given beforehand concerning the nature of the interview. We were told to give a 5 minute presentation about ourselves and what we had most recently been studying/working on. The details were very vague. Interview took all day due to presentations given by company personnel.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Sugar Land, TX (took 2 months)
My background is ECE. I first found about the REMS opportunity during Cornell Career Fair in September of 2011. I talked to a recruiter at the time. Got a pretty good idea of what the job is like. Applied online for the REMS position right away and then I heard back a month later in mid-October. I had an on-campus 30 minute interview 1:1. There was a presentation the night before. I passed that round and I was invited to Sugar Land, TX in the end of November just before Thanksgiving. There we had a 7 minute presentation and 3 1:1 interviews.I was told I am going to hear back in 2,3 weeks. In fact I heard back in less than a week. The offer was very competitive and I went for it.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
The interview was behavioral, but instead of asking the normal strengths/weakness or times when you made hard decisions. The interviewer went more in depth on why to Schlumberger over another oilfield service company like halliburton or an oil company like chevron. She was nice but I did not really know the difference between what chevron did compared to schlumberger, so i looked pretty dumb
