Interviewed Oct 2011 in Knoxville, TN (took a day)
Started out with a phone interview one on one with the hiring manager. General technical questions, pretty straight forward. The tone of the interview was more about personal fit for the org than technical skills. Second phone interview was with a group, similar setting, but more technical. Everything was quite good. Went for the in person interview, had a couple of different panel interviews, both very casual, somewhat technical, but nothing overwhelming for a seasoned UNIX administrator.
The second panel interview consisted of sitting down at a terminal with some abstract situations, which I felt generally were not very representative of real life scenarios. The whole interview process was quite amiable, and honestly I thought I killed it, but ended up not getting the positions due to unknown reasons. Never got any solid feedback on why other than they 'needed someone who could hit the ground running on a high profile project' so it must have been something fairly specific that they were hunting, as all the qualifications on the listing I met & demonstrated.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Knoxville, TN (took a day)
Interviewed with 4 employees. They asked why I was interested in Scripps and what experience I had. They asked what type of managements skills I had and specifics about my resume. Overall, a great experience, and they all spoke very highly of the company.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in New York, NY (took 1 week)
I received an email simply asking one question: "what are my salary requirements?". The only reason I knew it wasn't spam was because the e-mail address was ---@scrippsnetwork.com. I replied back in a professional letter format saying what it was and that I would love to be interviewed to discuss the job further. I was answered back with a request to go in the next morning for an interview.
The interview was 1 on 1 and lasted about 45 minutes-1 hour. I'm pretty good at telling if an interview goes well or not and I truly felt that this one went great. We left off that I would be hearing from her within a few days to then be interviewed by her boss via phone since she was located at the TN headquarters...Well...
Most of the interview consisted of "On a scale of 1-10 how "fill in the blank" are you and why?" After about 5 of these and no response to any of my answers, the last word was Ambitious. I answered confidently and said how I enjoy learning more about what the department does, and once I know my job well enough I don't mind helping out with other tasks. I don't know how this woman interpreted it, but I clearly ticked her off with that answer and the rest of the interview just went downhill.
She assumed I intended on leaving the position after 6 months since that's about how long it would take to learn everything...insisted this was not that type of workplace where they want employees to just leave and move on after they are done learning everything. In NO way did I state any of that, so I attempted to salvage the conversation and stated I would never leave a job that early and I completely understand how learning a new job takes that long.
Next she asked me what my biggest mistake was and insisted twice that it could be work or life related. I'm sorry but as much as I need a job, I don't feel the need to tell these people my life story so I went with a work situation. As I was speaking, she...again insisted it could be life related. I continued because at this point I knew this was shot. After this, I was able to ask her any questions I had and she was again clearly very annoyed at what I was asking (I'm not a kiss a** in interviews but I do know the right/common questions to ask an employer)
I sent a second thank you/ I'm still interested e-mail to the first woman a few days later and hoped for the best because even though the phone interview went down the drain I figured I wouldn't have dealt with that woman in the workplace anyway.
I never heard back from either person. Not even a "sorry but you are no longer being considered e-mail" Nothing.
I knew it wasn't going to happen after the 2nd interview completely ruined any chance I had but they could at least have the decency to give me a straight answer.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
Applied online for a role with company and within a few weeks received a phone screen interview. Recruiter asked basic questions that one would expect for the role I applied for. The questions revolved around my experience with very little to no questions pertaining to my character. I felt the screening went well but after the call there was no further communication from the company, not even an email confirming the position had been filled.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Bethesda, MD (took 6 weeks)
The HR recruiter was a total mess. It was the most unprofessional, disorganized process I ever went through. Part of this was because she didn't come from a TV/Cable Network HR background, so she seemed very new to the process.
She set such a low salary, then changed course and said they were amenable to what I was looking for, and ultimately changed course again to a laughingly low offer.
The process itself was wishy-washy. It was dealing with amateur hour.
Reason for Declining
Lowball, laughable salary. I'm sure the salary was great for Knoxville, TN, but this position was based in pricey DC.

Interviewed May 2009 in Knoxville, TN (took 2 weeks)
I submitted my application online. I can't remember if I had to submit a cover letter, although I don't see why I wouldn't have. My supervisor contacted me via e-mail and asked if I could come in for an interview. I went in about a week later, met him and his coworker (who was also another supervisor of mine) and had to take a copyediting/grammar test. Everyone was very friendly and easygoing, both during the interview and internship. Scripps was an incredible place to work for, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 3 weeks)
After a straightforward phone interview, they bring you in for a panel-style interview. Very nice people, but small office. Seem like great people, but due to the small office, may not be the best place for growth.
