I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Sears Holdings Corporation in November 2013.
Interview Details – I underwent three interviews. I had to leave my first interview to come back the next day because the HR rep told me I had to wear a skirt. Business slacks were not accepted. Upon returning the next day, my (future) manager informed me that the HR rep has no part in hiring for that dept and was wrong to say anything of the sort. I was asked the same questions again and again about my experience and what I would do in a given situation. I felt as if my interviewers didn't even realize it was the same question in different words each time. I just needed an income, so I complied.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Sears Holdings Corporation.
Interview Details – Got a call from HR. Thought to give a try even though I was not convinced to join SHC. Phone interview followed by a written test. It was unexpected to have such an analytical written test for a company like Sears. The in person was well organized and the interviewers were friendly. Algorithms, Data structures, web services, SOA. surprised to see a puzzle questions. People looked motivated though they were not very clear to answer when asked about future. Overall looked like attending an amazon interview :)
Interview Question – Everything was unexpected - DS, Algorithms, Design elevator, puzzle to solve a problem - Typical amazon, google type of questions Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Offer was good and was not very much negotiable.
I applied online and interviewed at Sears Holdings Corporation.
Interview Details – Initial communications were very good up to and through the second round of phone interviews. Upon traveling to the HQ; however, things got odd. Airport arrival and hotel arrangements were made, but very cold. Entry into the mothership was also very austere. The interview process seemed to be just that--a process. It was the strangest onsite interview I had ever encountered. I had absolutely no follow up response despite reaching out to them. Suffice to say, I'm grateful an offer was not extended as I might have been tempted to relocate to the city. Not surprising given the company's status, but it seemed to be an every wo/man for himself scenario.
I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Sears Holdings Corporation.
Interview Details – After applying online, I received a phone interview with the basic "what are you looking for?" ; "why Sears?" type of questions. This was then followed up with two in-person interviews, each time meeting with several different managers. The verbal job offer, with followup written offer, followed. Most questions during the one-one interviews were behavioral based...."Tell me about a time? How did you address it? What was the outcome? What did you learn? How did you apply those learnings to a new situation?"
Interview Question – Nothing out of the ordinary. Just be prepared with very specific examples of what you have done (not what you would do). They want to know your thought process and approach. Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Sears Holdings Corporation in October 2013.
Interview Details – Applied online, received an email to answer a few questions about experience and then had a phone call to set up an interview a few days later. First round of interviews went well. Met with four people that included a few managers and a senior analyst. Most asked basic questions about experience. A couple of them were "fill in" interviews, but it was nice getting to know them and their experiences with Sears Holdings. After a week, I was emailed for the second round of interviews. Again, I met with four people, the director, two staff, and another "fill in" manager. This round didn't feel as good as the first round. After meeting with eight people and answering the same eight questions, I had the feeling that they didn't know what direction they wanted to go in. I was a little shocked at how most of the group was newer. Most only been there in that position less than a year. Some even had zero property tax experience. After four weeks of not being notified if I was getting an offer or not, I kind of had to bother the HR recruiter to answer me.
Interview Question – Nothing was difficult. They were all professional with their questions. Answer Question
