Interview Details – I had three interviews at Sears. The first was with the lead manager for the department I was going to be working in. The second was with the operational manager. The final was with the store manager. Each interview built on the previous one. They were personality tests and a skills test checking your knowledge of products, how you would handle customer situations. All three managers seemed really nice and personable.

Interview Details – I had two interviews with two different employees of this store. Both interviews went very well in my perspective. The second interview I was told to my face it wouldn't of gone as far as it did if I wasn't able to interact with customers, I was told that I obviously didn't have a problem doing so. I was told that I would be notified within two days of the out come weather they would offer me a position or not. About 4 weeks ago I had an interview with a manager for either Loss Prevention or Sales Associate. He said there were no positions open for Loss Prevention and that there was a position open in Major Appliances for a Sales Associate, but he would have to forward it to that manager. A week later I received a call from the Major Appliances manager on a Saturday. I called him back the following Monday he was not in. I played phone tag for a week trying to get a hold of him. I reached him the following Saturday, and he had me meet him the next Monday for an interview. He said that it was a Commissioned Sales Associate position that used a draw system. He said that the interview would not of gone as far as it did if I wasn't able to speak to new people, but obviously you don't have that problem. He told me that he would get back to me within two days with the outcome weather they would offer me a position or not, after he goes over it with his superior. I gave him a day and called him that Wednesday, and he wasn't in. Once again I played phone tag with this gentleman for another week and didn't reach him until the Friday after that week. That day I called asked for this gentlemen and he said it was him and I told him who I was, and "click" abruptly I was hung up on. I called right back thinking it was maybe a mistake, and "click" once again. I called back roughly 10 minutes later a different gentleman answered and I said is this so and so and they said no just a minute, roughly 20 seconds later "click". I was hung up on three times with no explanation of the outcome of my employment, or no time to speak. I contacted the store manager and told him what happened to me, he didn't show much symphony towards except that he was sorry, and that he would take care of it. I told him how he could get a hold of me if he needed to, it’s been three days and I haven't heard anything. I would of rather of them told me the position has been filled, or that I'm over or under qualified than to of been hung up on three times, that is very unprofessional and I don't know how a company can run a business with employees like this.

Interview Details –
My interview process consisted of four interviews.
The first was a prescreening interview which went well. I was scheduled for a 1st interview the following week.
My 1st interview went very well and I was scheduled for a 2nd interview with a department manager the same day.
My second interview went well and seemed to be leading to a job offer but at the last second he noticed a skill on my application that led him to ask if I would be interested in a different hire paying position. I then set up another manager who could hire me for this other department.
I return the next week for my 2nd second interview only to find out that I am not qualified for the hire paying position and that the man who gave me my second interview was not even a manager in the department I was originally applied for. I then set up another interview with someone who could hire me for the original position
My fourth interview was delayed due to a staff meeting, it was delayed three hours. I could hear the meeting going on and all the department managers were getting yelled at by the store manager for not doing their jobs. at the end of this meeting i had my interview and was offered a position, i declined

Interview Details –
My initial communications with the company began with your standard online questionnaire to see if I was a good fit for the company. I applied for electronics sales.
I was called the next day and asked when I would be available for an interview. We scheduled an interview four days after the phone call.
When I arrived at the store, I initially spoke to the young lady who was working as their HR personnel. She told me that she wasn't sure where they were going to place me, and had me sit in the Loss Prevention office of all places to wait for the assistant manager in charge of home improvement. I got plenty of strange glances as employees walked past the room with me on the bench.
After about ten minutes the assistant manager arrived and the interview began. He asked the typical retail store interview questions with nothing that really struck me as abnormal. One thing that I told him was that I knew absolutely nothing about tools, lawnmowers, or snow blowers; I also had no selling experience.
After the first portion of the interview, I was then asked to wait yet again while they found the general manager (who was an extremely nice guy) to ask me the same questions as the first guy. Again, I told him that I knew nothing about tools, etc. In response to this, he asked me to "sell" him a stapler. I did a quick spiel about the features of the stapler that made it worthwhile, and after telling me what he liked about me, and promising me that they'd be able to teach me the products he gave me the job.
The general manager told me that he gave me the job because of a few key things. First, I looked him in the eyes at all times. Second, I sat straight up and was not afraid to answer questions honestly and directly. Third, when he asked me to "sell" him the stapler, I did not freeze even though I had no prior experience.
One thing that I should mention is that they never "taught" me the tools. They gave me about 20 hours of computer-based training in total to learn everything there was to know about the store's operations as well as its products. I reached out to my fellow employees often, but they basically just told me to tell customers something they'd want to hear to sell the product; my conscience wouldn't allow me to do that, so I left the job fairly quickly.

Go in to find they had 2 others scheduled at the same time. Waited about 20 minutes and was brought in where the interviewer reviewed different positions after basically letting me know that my pervious sales experience wasnt enough for retail sales. I was told that there was commsion only jobs, min wage/commission jobs and that she would place me with min wage MCA job.
Interview Question – What was a past work experince that was difficult. Answer Question

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Oct 2007 – Reviewed May 10, 2009
Interview Details – The process started with an online questionnaire / application. I think they have an automatic system that will send out an email about an interview as long as you "pass" the application stage. So, the automatic email will tell you what day/time to interview. Then you get an interview with someone in person. Basically all they want to ask is "Can you sell protection plans?". That's all they want you to do. Say yes, and you have a job...
