Interviewed Nov 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
All applications are filled out online. If you answer questions appropriately, you will get an opportunity to schedule an interview at the end of the application.
When I showed up for the interview, I initially spoke briefly with the HR manager and then was brought to a small (claustrophobic) office where a myriad of "official" questions totally unrelated to the job and its duties were asked. The interviewer (Lead Associate) even remarked during the interview how he hated asking all of these stupid questions that had nothing to do with the job.
After that was done, I spoke again with the HR manager who scheduled me a drug test at a local clinic (paid for by Sears). After a background check was run and the drug test results came back, I was offered the position.
The advice I would offer is that although the position could be filled by a highly trained chimp, come prepared because the typical interview questions are asked.
