Interviewed Oct 2010 in San Diego, CA (took a day)
Saw a sign in the window that they company was hiring. I filled out an application & got a call requesting me to come in for an interview one week later. I was 15 minutes early for the interview but the interviewer didn't take see me for 45 minutes! One half hour after our interview time. Probably because the counter worker never told her I was there! Said she was too busy to pop her head in the back room until all customers had cleared the floor! The interviewer never stepped out to see if I had arrived! The Interviewer was young but very nice. She was not the store manager, She asked the basic questions...It was apparent that after working at many customer service, retail & management positions I was totally qualified for the job. I just wanted part time to cover some holiday expenses. She was nice but indicated that I needed to speak to the manager. Went to get her but the manager I guess didn't want to waste five minutes speaking to me. I saw her when I came in. She was young as well & probably threatened by having an actual, older professional experienced co-worker. Bottom-line, I left, said good bye politely, immediately followed up with a hand-written thank you note & then heard nothing. I did a follow up phone call a week after the interview & the employee on the phone would not give me to the young lady who interviewed me...told me to sit by the phone as they were in the process of doing call backs. That was two weeks ago. No one ever called. Very unprofessional.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 1 week)
I was contacted by human resources to set up a phone interview. We scheduled an interview. i was called from a member of human resources and we reviewed my resume. i was asked a lot of questions about what I liked and didn't like. I had one question were I was asked what my favorite job was after I said I enjoyed something about each job I had and did not have a favorite. I repeated I did not have an all time favorite and was told I had to choose one job. I was told there were not a lot of advancement opportunities.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
This was the worst interview process i've ever had. Thought about contacting See's regarding the bad experience. Sad that I could have so much respect for a company and have it go down the drain so quickly. Got a call scheduling an interview, was told I would be sent an email. I wasn't, nevertheless I had all the information - through my own research- and showed up on time. The interviewer set me up for a test. He seemed off. Told me it was timed but he left, so after I finished - before time, he came back much later and simply went to his office. After waiting I went to check on him and he said oh, yeh. Then we did the interview and it consisted of him reading questions off a form and never looking me in the eye, all while he ran his fingers through his dandruff laded hair. Tried to maintain a smile and answer the questions appropriately, he would scribble my answers, I couldn't stop staring at that scribble, it seemed unreadable. He asked no follow up questions after I answered. He said thanks and walked me out the door. Sent a thank you letter. 3 weeks later never received any information back. Sent a follow-up email, no response back. Either the guy no longer works there, or he simply doesn't care. Don't mind if you choose not to hire me, but I took time out my schedule, the least you could do is send a no thank you email or letter.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
DM greeted me, then had me wait outside for 20 minutes while she took care of an issue inside. Nice person, but totally wasted my time by being late and not screening my salary so she would know that I was not in their range. Overall I was disappointed in the professionalism.

Interviewed Oct 2007 in Santa Ana, CA (took a day)
I applied in person at the store and got the interview 2 days later. The interview was pretty easy because I knew what to expect and was not new to retail at all. The manager said a I was very qualified to become a permanent team member. She told me how "her" store worked, that she was having a hard time firing the "bad apples" and she needed new team members. Everything seemed fine except the fact that she was already talking badly about her former employees, and calling the store "her" store. Anyways I accepted the temporary position with high hopes of becoming a permanent employee.. hopes she had given me. I never became a permanent employee and was given a ridiculous small amount of hours that holiday season.

The start-up pay is not bad at all for retail, but they tell you all this crap about giving you a higher wage depending on how many hours at work you accumulate?
