Interviewed Oct 2010 in New York, NY (took 3 days)
I responded to a posting on Craigslist and was called in for a group interview within two days. The group interview was myself, another girl and the Store Director. After 20 minutes worth typical questions, the interview ended. Two days later, I was called, offered the position and accepted. After the holiday season, I was offered a full time position were I did a very simple follow up interview with the Regional Director.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Springfield, MO (took 2 weeks)
I applied in person with a cover letter and comprehensive resume'. I was contacted by phone two weeks. I was not told this was a formal interview. The store manager identified herself then launched into a series of questions about my experiences.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in New York, NY (took 2 days)
The interview process with Sephora was not a difficult one but it was sure misleading. I first had an interview with a lady who was in charge of hiring. I had no experience in make-up but I did have experience in selling. She saw my resume and said she could see me working in the perfume section. So I had two more interview with two different people. The last one was with the general manager. She told me that people that don't really have the experience in a cosmetics store generally start off as a cashier. I find it very misleading how the fist lady who interviewed me told me one thing and a different pay amount only to have the general manager tell me something else. I think they need to better communicate on these things and not waste peoples time.
