Interview arranged by Serco for Friday afternoon i6:00
Interview changed on day to 15:30
Greeted by interviewing manager in reception - Poor initial impression offered a coffee by manager which I accepted - When I asked for sugar in my coffee the manager ripped the top off 2 sachets of sugar with his teeth and pour them into my coffee, nice!
We went into interview room where I met another manger both of them interviewed me, I was asked to reprise my CV and first manager became agitated and impatient. He then asked me what I knew about Serco when I mentioned some of the customers that I was aware of and were on the homepage of the Serco website he appeared to be unaware of some of Serco's customers.
The interview went downhill fast I was relieved when the manager stated it was working for him and I stated that I had noticed that very soon after the interview had commenced.
I thanked him for his time we shook hands and I left - probably one of the worst interviews I have ever had!

First Interview booked and on the day of the interview (2hrs before) was cancelled and hastily re-scheduled. When the interview did take place, it started as most do informally and then moved on to the standard competency based questions that are the flavour of most organisations. Interview was conducted by HRD and Line Manager, overall a fairly relaxed interview and pace. Was then invited back for a 2nd interview, this was again rescheduled a number of times (by then), eventually a date was set, was surprised to have interview with the same two people again... 2nd interview appeared to mix competency based questions with operational skills in a way that just didn't come together in a sensible manner, was asked some very odd questions to which was there no answer at all - A very odd process

Serco does not give any timelines and there interview process is mechanical without any fixed outcomes or results. They state they have acquired a company HYIT and state that the operations round would be taken by the president of HYIT; however, his secretary states that it would be taken by the AVP of SERCO. They are not clear about the number of people required for the process and when the requirement would be there.
