Interview Question – What do you know about this industry? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I asked for higher salary and got it.
I applied through other source and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Service Corporation International.
Interview Details – I had two interviews with the sales manager and the regional sales manager. Both were professional and offered their own stories of how they climbed up the ranks. The truth is that if you are even remotely talented as a sales person, you will get the job. The hard part of the job is getting better as a sales professional and most importantly, setting appointments. You are dealing with death on a daily basis and are responsible for dealing with their families in the most professional of ways. So the job is more then sales, and this will get you hired and employed for at least a month. If after a month you don't show signs that you haven't learned how to sell death to those who believe they are immortal, then you are in trouble. Selling pre need cemetery property is unique because there is no reason they shouldn't plan ahead if they care at all about there family. Still, the job is extremely difficult and unless you adapt to the hard sell.. Ex: "Do you love your wife? Then get your checkbook!" And unless you are willing to call every person who ever had their number printed in a phonebook, you will not make the money they tell you. HOWEVER... If you can survive the first year, you have made it further then 95%of everyone else and you have a legit shot at becoming a sales manager as long as you have hit quota 50% of the time.

Very Easy Interview
I applied in-person and the process took a day - interviewed at Service Corporation International in February 2012.
Interview Details – Group interviews are the norm. The host is looking for people to ask intelligent questions in a professional manner. If you have visible tattos or pink/blue hair... stay home! You will be drug tested. Wear a suit. If you are selected for a one on one interview, be lively and engaging and ask questions.
Interview Question – What do you think it will take to make it in sales. View Answer
Negotiation Details – You will not be able to negotiate.
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Service Corporation International in October 2010.
Interview Details – The first contact was the national reqruiter who pulled my resume from a job site. Then a scheduled interview with the sales manager. Another interview with General Manager. Because the sales sanager was so busy, it took some effort to schedule. The background check is extensive and takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on how many moves you have made. Be upfront about any legal issues or criminal convictions, including your driving record. Once you get into your interview, you will see beautiful locations with elegant furnishings. Everyone who works there will be wearing formal and dark colored business attire. Your apperance matters. You will be formally greeted and offered beverage. Then escorted into a meeting room. At this point, it's easy to make assumptions. The work environment is elegant and well furnished. People who work there are impeccably dressed. You get a sense of success by just walking through the door.
Negotiation Details – This is not a negotiation process for this position. If you meet the criteria they are looking for, then the romance begins. You are then told about how sucessful you will be. If you asked about the commision structure, you will be told about the $8.00 base. The benefit package is the slam dunk. The benefit package is exceptional.
I applied through other source and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Service Corporation International in January 2008.
Interview Details – I had a phone interview first and then was invited in to tour the property and talk to a manager. The manager was quite friendly and easy to talk to.
I was offered the job and was required to take a drug test and get a background check.
Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. The job pays a low base and commission on sales over a certain amount.
