I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Severn Trent Services (Gilbert, AZ) in August 2014.

    Interview

Quick and easy, due to personally knowing plant manager. The process was rather informal, other applicants will more than likely go through a more rigorous process. I wish other interviews were just like this one!

    Assistant District Manager Interview

Anonymous Employee in Coral Springs, FL
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Severn Trent Services (Coral Springs, FL) in August 2012.

    Interview

It was a panel interview consisting of four people. Two peers and immediate supervisor and his supervisor. Mostly the usual questions concerning my background and experience. They were particularly interested in my prior experience in the insurance industry and how that might be applicable to the position. I found this very interesting as there had been no mention of this insurance experience need in the job posting to which I replied. It struck me that there were additional aspects to the position that I needed to inquire about. This opened several lines of thinking and the potential interaction between the position and the other members of the District's support personnel.

    Interview Questions

    • Since a significant part of the position would be working with Boards of Supervisors and many of these people would have strong opinions how would I handle a board meeting if / when a Board member disagreed with my opinion or challenged my position?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

The only item needed to be negotiated was the starting date.

    Administrative Supervisor Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Colmar, PA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Severn Trent Services (Colmar, PA) in February 2012.

    Interview

I first met with the hiring manager. Since he knew people from my previous employer I felt like he didn't do his homework beforehand to see I worked there. He passed me off to the woman who currently had the job feeling as though he was going to call his old buddies to get the scoop on me. Then I was sent to HR to meet with a newly hired HR person. She was very nice just not a seasoned interviewer. The company is clearly old school. The woman referred to her manager as "Mr. xxx" If offered this position I would have turned it down. The building inside was beautiful. Just not a position for a modern forward thinking person.

    Water Operator Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Carmel, NY
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took a week. I interviewed at Severn Trent Services (Carmel, NY) in June 2011.

    Interview

The interview process was easy and not difficult at all. Have to come to the plant, interview, take a tour of it and pass a drug test. It was not a problem at all and not anything to be nervous about at all. It isn't the most sought after job in the world so it isn't like you have a one hundred other applicants you need to beat out.

    Interview Questions

    • There was no difficult questions asked. There was only a few questions that were like "If this happens.......what would you do?" and things of that nature. Not hard at all.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

No negotiation for me at all but I didn't come in with experience. I bet if you come in with certain water operator licenses you can negotiate more and get more money.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at Severn Trent Services (Howell, MI) in June 2011.

    Interview

Two on one interview with general questions. None of the questions were that hard. Just wanted to know more about experience of previous jobs and what I could bring to the company. I had already worked for the previous contractor at the site so I was qualified, they just wanted to make sure.
