Interview process now usually takes 3 to 4 steps.
1. Phone screening meaning HR questions
2. Panel interview with Supervisor and Manager of the department you are applying for and questions usually consist very basic technical questions of the field you are applying for.
3. After successful attempt at stage 2nd, you will be asked to meet Director or VP of that department who finally approves you hiring if you are that stage chances are you will be hired.
4. Sometimes you may go through an online testing tool provided by 3rd party to test you knowledge if required technical field

Negotiation Details
Shaw has its own salary range and most likely will give you offer within their specified range and you just have to accept that. In very rare cases or in demanding field like RF wireless Engineer they might negotiate the salary with you. With Entry to Intermediate level roles salary is already defined by Shaw.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Calgary, AB (Canada) (took 5 days)
I applied to a number of jobs online through the company web site. Within about 1-2 weeks I had a voice message from an HR person. When I returned the call, the HR person immediately started asking me questions on the phone and doing an interview even without asking me if it was okay or even trying to schedule it. I would say the interview on the phone went very well but the interviewer was more interested in me knowing the company culture than the more than 20 years of experience (including 12 years in wireless) that I can bring to the company. I was told that someone would be calling me for a face to face interview but have not heard anything yet..........its been over one week now. I say the best of luck to Shaw in trying to build a wireless network.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Calgary, AB (Canada) (took 5 days)
Panel interview via conference call. Admin assistant scheduled interview in a few days. Interview facilitators appeared to be inexperienced, distracted, and underprepared. Surprisingly vague questions considering the technical aspects of the position in question. Final question was "what do you know about Shaw?". HR was not represented at the interview. Facilitators were unable to answer any policy related questions. Hiring manager did not participate in interview (though he or she may have listened in). Be prepared for a panel interview format, mediocre facilitation, and inconsistent questions.
