extremely personable and nice environment. Sounded inviting and welcoming to hire. Interview made shell seem as a highly favorably company and personable. Clear that workplace relationships are important and that they are wanting to improve their face to the world. Seemed as a company that goes after what it wants and rains its employees extremely well.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 3 weeks)
Had a phone interview with Shell for a Summer Internship position in UK/Netherlands. The interview was about one hour in duration and could be broken up into three distinct parts.
The first part was a light introduction to confirm your identity and to discuss your internship options and to ask you several questions regarding the internship preferences.
The second part consisted in a series of personal experience/competency questions. Questions vary from interview to interview. Mine were two questions - What achievement are you most proud of? Tell us about a situation where you had to persuade people. Be prepared to expand and be asked questions regarding all that you say.
The final part of the interview consisted in selecting a topic out of four choices and be prepared to talk about it given a situation. The question I chose was Hiring and retaining talented people.

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Ann Arbor, MI (took a day)
I applied online and was offered an interview when shell came to recruit on campus. Half of the interview consisted of behavioral questions. The other half you chose topics such as research and development. You pretended you owned a company and you answered question relating to the topic. I would say they have an amazing management structure since it is less Hierarchal than other companies. Be able to analyze your problem solving skills, communication skills, and leadership skills, based on your experiences.
