Interviewed Mar 2012 in Lexington, MA (took 2 days)
The initial contact was done via a phone interview where it seemed they wanted to get a feel for my personality and if I would be a good fit for the team. After this, I was called in for an interview onsite. I arrived to discover it was a group interview - much to my surprise. The interview style was round-robin with 4 managers sitting around and each candidate rotating in order to speak with each one while a few were left to relax and socialize on the couch.
The managers were quite nice, and very personable. There seemed to be more emphasis on willingness to learn and ability to mesh with the staff already in place rather than wanting someone to come in there who thinks they know everything because they've worked somewhere else in the past (Genzyme, etc).
After the interview process was over we were given a bit of a tour around the campus of buildings including a brief look into the manufacturing floors. The interview concluded with the hiring manager informing us that we would be contacted within roughly a week with their final decision on who to hire.
Luckily, I made the cut and was offered a position. There was very little negotiation on salary. After accepting the interview I had to consent to a background check, submit references and take a drug screen. After passing all those, I was officially on board.

They'll initially offer you an hourly rate a little on the low side, it helps if you have offers from other companies or if you know what the market is for this job and how much you'd be able to get elsewhere in order to make an effective negotiation.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Devon, PA (took a day)
Interview with HR was very informative and casual, describing the position, benefits, payscale, etc. Interview with immediate supervisor, 2nd up, and international peer (via telecon) were mostly cookie-cutter questions. Interview went well, but I was told the position went to an existing employee.

Interviewed Aug 2009 (took 4 days)
I interviewed with recruiter, hiring manager and potential colleagues. I made it through three rounds of interviews. Was told by recruiter that I was on the "inside track" to land job offer. Then the trail went cold. Never heard a thing after that. I repeatedly tried to contact recruiter and hiring manager to no avail. No calls, letters or postcards. Extremely rude! Probably just as well. If Shire treats candidates like crap, who would want to be employed there?

Interviewed Nov 2010 (took a day)
Good phone interview but the face to face was very disorganized. The agenda was changed multiple times even the day of the interview. All interviewers were late and had to rush through the interview....bad bad experience.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Cambridge, MD (took a day)
well when i went for my interview it was at a temp agency and it was more like a group interview instead of a 1:1 interview, i asked many questions that i wanted to know about the job I'm going to be employed at, the interview was very exciting for me because i was so anxious to start work, the lady that interviewed everyone went over everything about the job requirements such as safety, job performance, drug testing etc. the interview took about 20-30min. because we also did a lot of signing our signature to like agreement papers, when i started B&G 06/29/2009 i had to wear black slip resistant shoes and i loved the work i did which was production and from this day on i still continue to work their seasonal until i find a full time or part time job it don't matter what shift the advice i would give to other interview candidates would be show eye contact to the person interviewing you, never keep your head down because it shows your not interested, no exactly what your going to say after every question and don't be fidgeting.
