Declined Offer – Interviewed in Jun 2011 – Reviewed Jan 9, 2012
Interview Details –
Initially learned about the job through a recruiting agency. One I got there, it was clear that the position I was described (by recruiter) was not the same as what I was interviewing for.
Overall impression was positive - good people, good atmosphere. That said, it is clear that working at Sikorsky, or UTC for that matter, is very typical of most very large defense contractors; manageable hours, slow-ish pace, but not much room for advanced promotion, innovation, etc. Seems like a good place for a recently graduated undergrad with an engineering degree and an interest in aerospace, not much of a fit if you are a mid-career MBA looking for a more fast paced and innovative environment.
