Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
Well, the company would require you to first complete all the online application and its required details, like those usual company website online application where they would ask what are your strengths and weaknesses, etc.
After all these, there would be a panel interview lasting about half an hour per candidate. They are nice people. One can tell from the purpose of the interview was to know more about you and how they could fit you into the organization. Following, they would ask you to do essay question and a summary. I find them kind of tough to be completed within 2 hours. If you have friends in SIA, please consult them for hints of the possible questions. Then if all goes well, they would invite you for a second interview, which I failed to move on to.
The verbal interview was simple, but the written one which I believe is to test your written skills and approach to problem solving is difficult for me. Perhaps, not so for the linguistically inclined people.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Singapore (Singapore) (took a day)
There was already 400 people queuing for application before 8:30am (the official start time) - it was very competitive. I got kicked out from the first round though, so that was sad. It's pretty much a talent show where you have to wow them (3 judges in the first round) with your personality.

You need to be clear of the areas of interests and display your relevant skills during your first interview with hiring manager. It will then follow by an essay to probably test your writing skills. If you get through both interviews, you will then be invited to the last interview by the HR mgmt and your divisional mgmt.

Interviewed Apr 2010 (took 3 weeks)
The company provided detailed, concise information with regards to interviews and test preparation.
There were 2 rounds of face-to-face interviews, coupled with numerical/reasoning/abstract/writing tests on both days.
It is not difficult to get this job at all. For the tests, brush up on your thought process on current topics, and familiarize yourself with summary writing. The other tests can be done well - just keep calm.
For interviews, they ask very general questions (no competency based ones at all) about current affairs, your opinions, your knowledge about the company, your hobbies, past leadership positions, your background and so on. They are interested in an individual who thinks, has good decisive opinions and is up to date with world affairs.
Senior management appears friendly, however work culture is rigid and controlled - speaking up out of place is discouraged, rule/protocol-following is encouraged. HR manner of work shows that they value the employee only when he/she is of any use to them, otherwise they can't be bothered.
Advancement opportunities are poor, merely a fixed $250 increment per year for the first 2 years, regardless of performance. The management trainee training track is superficial - no specialized training is given, everybody comes in as a 'management trainee'. Rotation is only allowed after 2 years of work, subject to individual posting rather than a career track.

Reason for Declining
Uncompetitive compensation, poor advancement, and I dislike their work ethnic/culture

Interviewed Jan 2007 (took 4 days)
Looking for candidates who are committed to general management, who are team players.. focus on all-rounders - you have to have a good academic record, good people skills etc, but it's the overall package that matters more than exceptional performance in one area. sincerity, humility, and a restrained ambition seems to be valued since the career track can take longer than in other professional services businesses.
