Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took 2+ weeks)
Slalom opened its NYC office in late 2011. It is looking to double its staff in 2012. That means that they are aggressively interviewing Big 5 consultants in the NYC area.
Unfortunately the office (and its employees) are so new that the interview process is completely DISORGANIZED. This does not bode well for what it would have been like to work there. Slalom's foothold in NYC is very small thus tthey have a very light bench. They are unable to hire based on forecast thus they have more of a bodyshop mentality (i.e. scramble to fill roles as they sell projects).
Getting an interview is relatively easy. Culture is an important factor in terms of "fit". Interviews are conducted w/ MD's - pretty much your run of the mill consulting interview (situational discussion, deep dive into past experience highlighting key skills that they are looking for).
Getting inteview feedback is difficult. The post interview response time took several weeks. I felt this reflected poorly on their organization (especially when compared to other more established consulting companies).
