Interviewed Aug 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
The interview process was very comfortable. I went to their offices and casually interviewed with the two women I would be working with. We casually discussed my experience, long-term goals, and what the company culture is like. The office was very professional and the people were very kind.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
The local (Americas) group head and the global head of the department spoke with me for an hour or so. I was referred to SG by people who knew me, so this was more casual than normal. I would say that the exact position was a bit vague, and they did not go into enough details to allow me to advocate for a particular position.

The first round interview was on campus and conducted by an employee who was a VP in the iT industry but I was interviewing for an accounting and finance position so I did not receive any technical questions at all. My second round interview, I had three rounds with three different MD's and a group interview with my competitors.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 1 week)
First of all, was headhunted by a agency then follow up with a 1:1 interview with the Director. The job itself is a 3 month contract and the director simply go through some basically interview questions like: Describe yourself, Why you choose us ? etc. Then he jumped into the main issue he is dealing with now and ask you some technical questions. The technical questions are usually based on the requirement of the job description, so as long as you apply for the right position and you have the right background, should be very easy to pass. I actually make it to the salary negotiation round and have to deal with the HR lady. The director choose me mostly because I have better communication skills than other candidates. I m glad that I can speak fluent english as I know the rest of the candidates are not native english speak but they do have 3-5 years of exp ( I m fresh grad)
However, the HR lady isn't very nice. She try to push the salary very low. Even 20-30% lower than the average IT fresh grad salary (just barely above the minimum wages). That's mostly because I m fresh grad. But everything else went very smooth and good

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took a day)
The interviewer had too much of attitude. He wanted to show off that he is great. More of trying to insult the candidate. Questions were from core java. Like overriding rules, finalize, actions classes provided by struts, when to use them, cloneable, comparable, comparator.....

Interviewed Feb 2011 in New York, NY (took 4+ weeks)
Interviewed with them first on campus, which was pretty straightforward. Then went in for a half-day second round interview process. The second round consisted of three one-on-one interviews and a group interview. I was interviewing for a back office role, so people were professional, and weren't interested in intimidating you (unlike other i-banking positions).

Interviewed Jun 2011 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 days)
I first met with the head of coverage support in London. She was pleasant and we had a nice long chat about the setup of coverage, recent developments and growth plans. I was able to expound on what I knew was currently happening at Soc Gen and what I had to offer. The role was for maternity cover and the industries covered were not my first choice as my main interest was in natural resources where the bank is strong.
Nevertheless I decided to move forward and was shortlisted for the final round. The final round was a video conference with the Europe coverage support head and global coverage support head based in Paris who fielded questions around my experience and motivation for applying. We had a good chat but in the end I was informed they went with an internal candidate whose experience most closely related to the role.
