It was normal like any interview. Interviewed by two managers one after the other, onsite. The hiring managers interview lasted about 45mins.

Negotiation was tough. They didnt budge.But this was probably because I was an intern still coming from college.

The interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Jan 2008 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took 2 weeks)
Straightforward and standard interview process. 1 to 1 interview in two rounds with final detailed HR interview. 3 rounds in total. Mostly competency based questions. Perception was positive especially of culture and people. Quite relaxed interviews and was able to ask many questions and felt I got to know potential employers well and get a good feel for the role and organisation.

After a more than satisfying internship in the team, I got offered a permanent place in the team (they needed an addition to the team). I met with the newly promoted chief of the team, then with the team, went to a recruitment agency to undergo IQ and behavioral tests, and then again with the team boss. Feedback was great, I was (and still am) totally fit with the corporate culture and the spirit of the team I was about to join. Offered compensation was very competitive, and this was definitely my best offer on the table. Eventually met with HR only to sign my contract.

- The firm took more interviewees than most other firms. Ex) Other IB firms only slotted 10 - 15 interviews but SG had 30 interviews slotted for all the majors.
