Interviewed Feb 2010 in San Diego, CA (took 4 months)
This was my second time interviewing with SCEA. I invested two hours of phone interviews and 12 hours of on-site interviews that consisted in 3 days of panel interviews that lasted 4 hours each. After investing this much time in a candidate, I received a form letter more than a month after my last interview stating that I did not have enough experience for this position. I am surprised they would have wasted so much time on a candidate that they considered not qualified for the job.
I was very unimpressed by the entire interview process and got the feeling that nobody really knew what position I was interviewing for.

I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Foster City, CA (took 2 months)
If you want to be considered by SCEA, you have to be a VERY proactive job hunter. A resume through the board won't get you noticed. Contact a human being and be persistent. Otherwise, you won't get pass this stage. Persistence pays at every stage of the interview. Call or email after each stage if you haven't heard back from them.
The process at SCEA is very standard. You first get a call from the HR person to schedule a phone interview. A recruiter will call you then to ask you the standard behavioral questions about your background, make sure you might be a good fit for the company and clarify anything that might be confusing about your resume/cover letter. This interview might be an hour long.
If you pass this stage, you will get another call to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager. They will call as scheduled to ask questions related to the position, your professional skills, your background and the typical "tell me of a time when..." to evaluate your capabilities based on your experience.
If you pass this stage, you will get another call to schedule a personal interview. They pay for travel and lodging, if necessary.
During this personal interview, you will meet with many people and the interviews are as diverse as the interviewers. You will get case questions, behavioral questions, skills evaluations and personal rapport questions. It is long and exhausting, but nobody is there to kill you. Quite the opposite, they really want to make sure you will fit with the team.
They were very prompt and call me within the same week with an answer: in my case, I didn't get the job, but they were kind enough to detailed all the reason why I didn't get it.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Foster City, CA (took 2 weeks)
Applying online was not very productive. I found the name of a recruiter and e-mailed her directly, which prompted a response. From first communication to final interview, it took about 2 months, so the process is very lengthy. It was difficult to get everyone the wanted me to see all on the same day, so I had to go back multiple times for a single "round" of interviews.
Questions were very straightforward and people were very nice, but the logistics were difficult. It seems the hiring manager had a hard time choosing and follow-up information was not always easy to get.

Interviewed Mar 2009 in Foster City, CA (took a day)
A friend of a friend introduced me to the hiring manager. We set up an initial phone call to discuss the job and responsibilities. I sent her my resume and about a week later an HR rep called to set up a time for the interview. On the day of the interview, I meet with 4 different people. Each of the interviews ran about 30 to 45 minutes long. Each person I meet with had a set list of questions. I had done a considerable amount of prep work so I had a long list of questions for them. We discussed my background, skills, goals, the job, responsibilities, etc. Overall, this was a rather routine interview exercise. Nothing remarkable. My only advice to others is to remain calm in the interview. Don't exaggerate or use broad sweeping statements when describing things or events. Be honest and do your homework. Learn as much about the company/job before you walk into the interview room.
