Multiple telephone screens followed by a FTF interview. Long delays ~ 6 weeks between contacts. Any then a telephone offer from HR a month or 2 after the the FTF interview. All Behavioral based questions. Applied on line for several postions that fit my skill set and experience and had several phone screens. Interviewed Sep 2009 (took 4+ weeks)
The HR consulted me as a candidate and then a long delay (4 weeks) till next communication, then asked for interview in next 24 hours with limited choices, then a then a long delay (6 weeks) with no communication and finally an offer but very little negotiations with rigid rules. Many paper work and background tests delayed the first day of work.
Overall, not a pleasent experience.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 6 months)
The actual interview wasn't difficult, it was targeted towards entry level workers.
There were 3 people - the JSP Connected program coordinator and two of the mentors that worked at the service center. They took turns asking questions then asked if I had any questions. I asked how they liked working for Edison, and what I should expect out of the job.
I applied around April, and they called me for the interview in May. The application was simple, they came to my high school and explained the program to us. We turned in a resume and transcript with the application, and we were required to take a typing speed test.
They called me around 2 months after the interview and said they wanted to offer me the job.
After that I met with the coordinator a few times to sign papers and things like that. The screening process took forever, and I was finally working in October, one month later than I was supposed to begin working. (My start date was supposed to be the second week after the school year started in August)
It took a month from my start date to get computer access, and over 4 months after that to get fully situated with all the programs and accesses I needed to do my work.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 2 weeks)
after submitting my profile and the necessary document on the school website, I was contacted by a recruiting manager within the week. We immediately had a phone interview, which lasted approximately 20 minutes. The questions weren't overly tough and was definitely manageable. The recruiter said he would be in touch within a few days, and voila, he offers me an interview spot the next day.
My in house interview was with a panel of 3 individuals and each had a pre-defined list of questions to ask. many many many many MANY behavioral questions and a total of 3 questions regarding BASIC accounting terms. The whole interview process lasted approximately 2 hours and I got fairly good feedbacks from them.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Rosemead, CA (took 2 days)
Experience began with a general screening interview with HR, followed by an in person limited panel interview with the hiring manager and potential future co-worker from same department. Coming from a different industry, I was amazed at the resources devoted to market research here. They may be somewhat spoiled in MR resources relative to other companies, but this also shows that they value feedback from their customers and more appropriately devote resources to it. Many other companies unwisely skimp in this area. The panel interview was very regimented. The interviewers used a book and followed a strict line of questioning. I asked if I could take notes but was not allowed except for very specific items. They did a good job of explaining the structure and duties of the job. I did not get an offer but I have a feeling they may have been looking for someone with more supply side research experience than I had.
