Interviewed Aug 2011 in Norcross, GA (took a day)
I applied to this position 1 month prior to receiving an email about their interest in me. I received an email that asked me a few questions about my background and interest in the position. The questions were rather simple and they also requested more samples of my work. So it was pretty much an email interview. One week later, I was invited in for a face to face, but they also sent me 2 questions in preparation for the interview. Little did I know when i got there that it would consist of a panel interview. And this was my first panel interview ever. Typically, I am used to interviews with the potential boss and a team member. This interview was difficult and unfair. None of the panel understood my skills or how they would relate to the projects. The panel was about 12 people and 2 from HR. These same people were interviewing linemen(thats people who send power to your homes). You cant have the same people interviewing linemen that interview a flash developer. 2 different types of people and skills. This interview was so uncomfortable. You are in a small room-seriously and surrounded by 12 people. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and unfair. Intimidating environment. At most, I shouldve at least had a 1 on 1 with the potential boss.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Birmingham, AL (took a day)
Interview was about one hour long.
You are lead into a conference room. You sit down at a big rectangular table. Seven people ask one standard interview question a piece (like the example interview questions that I was forwarded prior to the interview). After that, you are able to ask one question a piece to each individual.
The seven people at the table were: Project managers, staff level, HR.
My advice, come prepared to answer standard interview questions (e.g. If you worked with someone who was not performing his/her duties, how would you handle it?)
Don't try to memorize each response to each question, don't get too worked up about answering every question like a you're giving a speech.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Birmingham, AL (took 2 days)
Southern has a top notch on-line system for applying to jobs. The process is quite exhaustive, but once completed, it is available for subsequent job applications. If your submission to their on-line system is favorable, you will be called and/or e-mailed asking you to appear for an interview. They pay all expenses incurred for travel. The interview will be before a group of supervisors and managers with a human resources person present. The questions are typical interview questions such as: Why are you the best candidate for this position? Why do you want to work here? How would you handle such-and-such? Describe your experience and how it relates to this position. They are very courtious and strive to set you at ease. A decision will be posted on-line. Since I never received an offer, I don't know how you are contacted for that.
