Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Feb 2008 – Reviewed Dec 28, 2012
Interview Details – Students must be invited to an information meeting, where they will be given all the important details of the program. Information meetings are run by student managers and corporate recruiters, and typically last an hour. At the end of the meeting, students who are interested in applying will go through a screening interview to determine if they qualify to interview. The interview process is three days long and begins the day after the information meeting. Candidates will receive an assignment to do some online research about the company and answer questions about their desire and qualification. Going into the second interview, students are assigned to contact students who have already completed a summer with Southwestern and ask them about their experience. The third interview assignment will ask students to answer questions about why they would be a good candidate. Students can be selected or rejected at any point in the three day process, and typically a reference check with the candidate's parents will take place after the first or second interview. Each interview lasts between thirty and sixty minutes. At the end of the third day, if the students is selected and they accept the position, they will sign a contract and be asked to turn in a parental support letter or a letter of endorsement, which indicates that they are a trustworthy person who has someone willing to vouch for them.
Interview Question – Every interviewer asks their own questions based on what they are looking for in the students they work with. View Answer
Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. Pay is 100% profit because students are hired as independent contractors who are running their own business. The money they make is entirely determined by the amount of product they sell.
Other Details - I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 days.
