Interviewed Jan 2010 in Columbia, MO (took 4 months)
It was a joke. The guy talked to me for about 15 minutes and then said he would put me into the background process. He said he had a couple of others he interviewed and that he would decide and get back to me the following week. A week went by with no word. I called, and he acted like I was bothering him and said it would be the following week. 2 weeks went by and again he acted like I was an idiot for following up and said it would be the following week. The next week I called again and he said I was in the top 3 now and he would decide and call me the following week. 2 weeks go by and I call for the last time. He said the same as before, I was in the top pick of 3 people and he would let me know the following week. I told him to decide by Friday or I was taking a different job offer. He never called! Then, about 2 1/2 months later I get a call from him and he says hey if you are still interested in a job I have chosen you and would like to give you a conditional job offer. I told him I was now a direct competitor and he was nuts.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Unprofessional, unorganized. I would never willingly go to work for someone like that.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 5 weeks)
Outcome of two interviews is still pending. Intial phone interview with hiring manager. Then a face to face interview with hiring manager and another manager who works with him and has his own team doing a very similar job. Second interview was with the hiring manager's boss face to face. Still waiting to hear if I'll get an offer or not.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Las Vegas, NV (took 2 weeks)
The interview process was great (even though I didn't get the position). I was taken into a room for a group interview, consisting of a supervisor and a manager. The asked behavioral questions (use examples from your past to answer current q's). Remember to use the STAR technique!!

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Seattle, WA (took 3 weeks)
You apply online and take a skills/personality assessment. If you pass the assessment, you are asked to fill out a more comprehensive application. After this, it may take a while to get a call back. I applied to several stores and was called to interview at one of them.
The interview was pretty typical for a retail sales position. STAR format questions. Define success. Sell me this phone.
After the interview, a background check is run and a drug test is required. This step only takes a few days.
Negotiation Details
HR sets your hourly wage. The commission structure is consistent company wide.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 2 weeks)
It took me a week to get an interview. The first interview was really tough; many questions and a lot of talk. Although most of the questions were common, they were very challenging. Then after that, it took another week to be called for the second interview; however, it seems that they already had chosen me in the first interview because i made a good impression(they told me this). Both interviews were long; first was about 1 hr and the second one was around 1.5 hr to 2 hr. My best advice is to prepare for the interview because they are challenging, always smile! and make eye contact. If you don't make it, don't give up. I have been interviewed at sprint for three times and in the last two I had a good outcome. Good luck.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Fort Worth, TX (took 2 days)
I applied on-line and received a link to an on-line assessment. It's a typical assessment and a virtual call center "walk through" where you actually listen to a call and "practice." Then you fill out the application. The next day I received a phone call to schedule a phone interview for the next day. The typical questions took place on the phone call, "tell me about a time when," and then I was scheduled for a 1:1 the next day. The 1:1 was very relaxed and fun, and I was moved on to the next step immediately which is the drug test and background check. I completed the drug test upon leaving as it was on my way home, and still waiting for the background check to complete, which I have no worries about.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (took 3 weeks)
I have been trying to work with Sprint/Nextel for about a year. I was in college when I first applied and I recieved a call to interview. Long story short the position got cancelled. I applied online through the corporate website. Following this sprint sent me an invitation to complete an hour long IQ, skills and personality test. About 5 minutes after the test I recieved an e-mail stating that I passed the test and someone from Sprint would contact me shortly. I recieved a call 2 weeks later from a Jacksonville store. I went in to interview with the manager of the store and the senior retail sales consultant, took about 15 minutes. 2 to 3 days later the store manager called me back to set up a second interview with the district manager. A week later I interviewed with the district manager which took close to an hour. 3 days later, I got the job. Ofcourse after I passed the background and drug test.
Perks: no cell or internet bill. I problably pay around 30.00 a month for both unlimited on employee plan, tuition reimbursement and family perks..etc.

Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation with Sprint/Nextel which I was super surprised about. They offered me 9.75 hour plus commission. I was told 9.75 plus commission was for people with experience since I had previous years of retail and mobile phone experience with another company. I was very upset due to the fact that I have a 4 year degree. Not acceptable. They would not budge on the hourly rate. Other carriers start atleast at 11.00 plus commission.
