Business Office Interview

Business Office
Austin, TX

I applied through college or university and the process took 5 days - interviewed at St. David's Health Care.

Interview Details – Interview was straight-forward. No left field questions. Set up the interview on the phone with the manager and came in for an in-person interview. It was just with the business office manager. Was called in less than a week to be offered the job

Interview Question – What kind of salary are you looking for?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – None.

Registered Nurse Interview

Registered Nurse
Austin, TX

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at St. David's Health Care.

Interview Details – When I first arrived, it was not clear where I was supposed to go. Signs at the hospital are difficult to follow, and the manager's office was hard to find. The unit clerk was less than helpful - she pointed "that way" rather than walking me down to where I needed to be. The interview itself was with multiple staff members, including the director and manager. Afterward, I was introduced to potential coworkers. I was offered the position and had to wait over three weeks before being able to start in the next orientation group. This meant I had to wait five weeks from the day I was offered the job until I received my first paycheck (for one week of work).

Interview Question – Questions were pretty typical for a nursing job (or most any job these days.) "Give me an example of a time...and how did you handle it?" etc... The most difficult of these types of questions to me is, "Why are you leaving your current job?" It's hard not to complain or otherwise be negative if coming from a bad situation.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was no opportunity to negotiate, but they made me a reasonable offer.
