I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Staples in April 2013.
Interview Details – After applying for a sales position (though my resume showed IT experience in school and other jobs) I was called in for a new position they had created for their new Easy Tech department. The online application included a personality survey which seemed to indicate to them a resistance to leadership and or sales environments as most of the questions posed were asking if I would be comfortable selling and taking leadership. I was fine with both, though some prior experiences led me to be reluctant to lie to customers as I was directed in a previous job. The first interview was with the store manager and the assistant stock keeping manager. The store manager was the most apprehensive. This led to a second interview with the sales manager (who would be my supervisor) and the Tech Expert (a sales position normally) who asked basically the same questions along with questions about prior successes in sales and whether I was interested in moving up with the company in the future. The Sales manager asked me a few questions testing my PC repair knowledge. They seemed to want a more 'bubbly and effervescent' personality but they hired me as the most qualified applicant.
Interview Question – The manager insisted I should be available on Sundays because they require that from all their applicants. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – The only negotiation was about Sundays and that I required as close to 40 hours a week as they could manager for a part time position. They hired me despite not working Sundays and mostly kept me above 30 hrs a week for almost 3 years.
Very Easy Interview

Interview Details – I applied to the company in July of 2011 and they offered me a 1:1 interview a couple weeks after I applied. I went in and spoke to one of the managers for less than 15 minutes and he already mentioned to me the pay rate and the responsibilities I would be in charge of. Good people and good company.

Negotiation Details – no negotiation
The process took a day - interviewed at Staples in January 2010.
Interview Details – I came into the store to pick up an application, and was told to go online and fill one out. I filled it out and made a follow-up call a few days later. A day or so after that I came in for the interview. All three managers were supposed to be there but there were only two. I had already impressed them through phone conversations, so it was just a few formality questions. I had the job after that.
