Interviewed Mar 2012 in Phoenix, AZ (took 3 weeks)
Arrived 30 minutes early for the interview, asked for Manager. He came early and asked to wait a few minutes because he was busy helping people. 20 minutes after the actual appointment time, the interview began in the office section, and went on for around 10 minutes. He was very nice. If you bring your own business cards, you might get some extra points there.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took a day)
My situation was unusual as I was recommended for this job by AARP. I worked at Staples for approximately 3 weeks while being paid by AARP. One day I was told to complete the online application and I was hired as of the next day.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Irving, TX (took a day)
The interviewer was polite, friendly and asked the questions he needed to ask. The store was neat and clean. I immediately felt it would be a good place to work. I was brought to the back to a small office to speak with the Asst. Store Manager (when I arrived I waited for a bit while he helped a customer; chatted with the cashier on duty).

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Atlanta, GA (took a day)
Interview was simply the two managers just asking questions. If they liked you, you got hired. Almost NO background checks are done and there is NO drug screening (several employees at our location are active pot smokers - not me - as well as one of the managers there!). As long as you meet the on-line testing requirements - just say the customer is always right - you are a shoe in.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took a day)
It was easy. Simple questions, nothing much considering that I didnt have to much previous experience. I pretty much described that I was able to multi-task and could adapt to the job, which made sense because since I was hired for a part-time role I would get more hours if I was able to work in different departments.
