I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Staples in January 2014.
Interview Details – They called me in for an interview about 2 weeks after I put in the application. Both the Store Manager and Assistant Manager interviewed me...at the same time. The questions were straight forward. The issue was that, a week later, they called me again. They didn't offer the the job...in fact they wanted an interview. They didn't have any of my information from my first interview with them and completely forgot they interviewed me in the first place. It was awkward and they never contacted me again.
Interview Question – No difficult questions. Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and interviewed at Staples.
Interview Details – I was hired by two managers. One was a complete ass who told me I would have to extend my availability to get the job even after I explained that I'm a full time student. The other said I would be hired. Good cop, bad cop situation.
Negotiation Details – There were no negotiations
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 3+ weeks - interviewed at Staples in January 2014.
Interview Details – i applied online 12.29.13 and did the super long online questionnaire that asked scenario questions like "if you were stocking shelves and the line for the cash register was really long what would you do? go open another register" that kind of stuff. 01.14.14 i was called to set up an interview. interview was on 01.17.14 at 2pm arrived 15 minutes early so interview started early. the manager said he does an unorthodox interview and he just described the job asked what i liked/didn't like about what he told me, and then just asked about my hobbies and customer service experience and asked if i was good with math/money, was pretty much told i would get the job. got a call the same day to go online and submit my information for a background check. 1.21.14 got a call saying i passed the background check and to set up a time to meet the head manager and turn in my SSN and Drivers License Number on 01.22.14 at 2pm, i arrived early but they were super busy so i waited for an hour, but the manager apologized, bought me a soda, and told me i got the job and he would add the time i waited to my pay for the week, he sat with me while their tax representative called and asked me questions (am i on welfare? that kind of stuff) then he asked my customer service experience and offered me $8.40 and i was given my schedule then and there.

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Staples in August 2013.
Interview Details – Applied for the job via staples.com Got a phone call to set up interview a few days later. Did not have a long wait to start interview. Interview was pretty basic with generic questions. Had to return another day for 2nd interview with store manager. This interview was simple and went over 1st interview and asked a couple scenario type questions. Was hired there and was told to come back in a couple days to start training.
Started off as a temp as it was back to school season.
Interview Question – Nothing overly difficult. Basic scenario questions like what would you do if there are multiple/angry customers. Also asked about availability as they needed overnight workers. Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Staples in March 2011.
Interview Details – I applied online at the staples website. I got a call back within 2 days to schedule an interview the next day. Upon arriving 15 mins early I was sent to the managers office. The interview was fairly easy just stop and think before you speak. He asked what I knew about the company, why do I want to work at staples and a few scenario questions pertaining to the work environment and the position.
Interview Question – Their wasn't any difficult question or unexpected question that threw me off. I did my research the night before and on my way to the interview I looked up a few basic interview questions job employers usually ask the candidate on the 1:1 interview. Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Staples in November 2013.
Interview Details – I just applied and was accepted for a job at Staples. I am upset because the Manager had paperwork containing my SSN AND LICENSE INFO on her desk, piled loosely along with all the other new-hires, out in the open on her desk with the office door wide open for days. She is always being called away from her office in the short 3 hours I was there, encountered many staff people walking by and a lot of foot traffic too, while doing training videos in her office.
My 1st day of mandatory training there consisted mostly of how they stress the importance of not becoming part of a Union and encouraging us not to sign paperwork, should we approached by a union representative. The other big portion of the training was about the ACA. and having to do with Obamacare. This included an intensive test at the end on just these 2-things alone, and taking about 1.5 hours of time training on this, when I am only doing a minimum wage part-time register job, and none of this having to do with a register or the values of good customer service.
Also, the ad I applied for was for the Copy and Print Center. They do not hire full time at all apparently, with the exception for the Managers. I also had to go through a detailed over-the-phone interview with a government agency, even though I possessed valid US Citizenship, which I provided. The Manager had told us that they get a credit from the government for every person they have call in.
I quit the job today too, based on those things mentioned above and also fellow-potential employees appearance and attitude. Some looked like they rolled out of bed and came to work, and cursing in the break room in front of new hires while waiting for the Manager to arrive on our first meeting to do paperwork. They were also arguing with the Manager how much time they had left on break. I do not wish to work in an environment with a caliber of people whom do not seem to care or respect each other, let alone themselves.
Overall, I am very upset by the level of care and neglect given to employees's personal and confidential paperwork. I will be filing a formal complaint with Staples Headquarters on Monday about this.

Interview Details – I had two interviews with them. I applied online and within 3 days they called me in for the first interview. I had two people interview me at the same time and I thought it was kind of rude when the one manager was talking on the phone while the other was asking me questions it kinda threw me off my game, however come to find out when i applied for sales associate they were interviewing me for the copy and print center. Afterwards I got a call back in a week later to come for a second interview it was just one on one and for the sales associate position since I guess at the time I didn't have enough experience for the copy center and was than on the spot told I was hired
