I applied through an employee referral and the process took 11 months - interviewed at State of Colorado Department of Labor in July 2010.

Interview Details – A person that is interested in working for the State of Colorado should review the job postings that are identified as open competitive on the State of Colorado web site by going to

Interview Question – There are multi levels during the job selection process. You must be patient to wait for a lengthy period of time before starting a job. In most cases you will apply for a job, take a test within six months and then if you are among the top six go before an oral board and then finish among the top three candidates for a personal interview with the hiring authority. If you are selected you will be called by the supervisor and offered a position. You will then coordinate a start date and negotiate a final salary.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There is a range for the position and you are normally hired at the beginning of that level.
