Interviewed Jan 2008 in Westminster, CA (took 5 days)
I described history, as well as demonstrated skills while in a lesser position. Impressive actions/relations with coworkers to show that I will interact with coworkers to keep building safe and clean. The best way to get promotions, is to "show" your ability. Keep quite[don't talk too much] stay focused, and sjust do your work...with added abilities show, with every chance.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Vista, CA (took 2 weeks)
For me, I came in and applied on the days they said they were hiring, filled out an application, and waited to be interviewed. The interview was easy, because they just asked the questions that you answered on the application. Based on what you answered, they'll call you back two weeks later for a "second interview" (which is more like orientation). You sign and go over paperwork, take a drug test, and the manager will call you telling you whether you passed or not. Then, you start working.
They're really big on hiring within, so you have to be a Courtesy Clerk before you can be anything else.

Interviewed Feb 2009 (took a day)
Each store does it's own hiring, so each store/assistant manager interviews each application/applicant on a set day and time for the listed openings. One at a time he/she/they go over your application question by question, and ask a few simple questions about the position you're applying for. The one on one interview is usually only a few minutes. If you are called back, you're asked to attend you're "2nd interview" which is actually the background and drug test where you also go through the paperwork needed for being hired. If all goes well you're accepted and start A.S.A.P. Very easy process: you're either in, or out.
