Interviewed May 2010 in Baltimore, MD (took a day)
Very relaxed environment, looking to see if their group could work with you. Interviewed with entire group from analyst to MD. Standard technical questions (asked same questions by each person) such as define WACC, describe an LBO model, describe the interaction between the financial statements. The day lasted from 8 until 2 with a lunch interview consisting of the last interview.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Baltimore, MD (took 4+ weeks)
Initial interview was done via phone where I was asked general background questions and regarding my resume. I received a call a week later to set up an interview with the sales manager. He asked me to sell him my best idea. Other questions related to client relationships. I also met with a group of sales people who essentially asked behavorial question. My believe is they were trying to see if I would work well with in the culture. Ultimately I did not receive an offer primarily (in my opinion) because my client relationships were not very additive to their current business.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Baltimore, MD (took 1+ week)
This was a campus recruiting effort on the part of Stifel. I interviewed with a MD from Baltimore. He was pretty disinterested and was among my worst interviews. Their presentation a few nights earlier was among the least interesting and prepared I've seen. Perhaps the representatives they sent were not a true picture of the people there.
The moment I knew I wasn't going to make it to the next round is when he cornered me on where I really wanted to work: Bulge Bracket in NY or Middle Market. Be prepared to answer this question. They asked it to everyone of my peers.

Interviewed May 2009 in Baltimore, MD (took a day)
Initial contact was through email and telephone to schedule the interview. The interview process took about half the day and I met with four different people. They don't seem to have a set of interview questions, or even a guidline. It was more of a conversation, which was nice. After, I did not hear back for a while, and when I contacted them for a status update they said they would get back to me and never did.

Interviewed Nov 2007 (took a day)
The people were very cordial and accomodating. it was a typical middle market investment banking interview; a mix of cultural fit questions with investment banking technical questions and firm specific questions. Was able to interview with very senior people and who were firm yet fair. The technical questions were related to the three main accounting statements and accretive/dilutive mergers and acquistions. I went to lunch with two associates that were good people.
