Interviewed Apr 2010 (took a day)
It lasted less than ten minutes. It seemed to have gone well, the owner seemed very nice. He asked me about myself so I told him that I was a high school senior with a 3.5 GPA and I was looking for a job so that I could earn money for college. I told him I lived close so that Subway was a good candidate. Then he asked me about the activities I listed on the application, ecology and spanish club. I told him about what I do, especially being the treasurer. He told me that he just got back from Mexico last week, and I asked him if he enjoyed himself, saying he did. Then he asked how many years of Spanish I took; I told him four. He asked if I knew anybody who worked there, I told him the name of someone who works there who was in my Spanish II class. Then he asked when I could I start, which I said as soon as possible. He asked if I would object to working at either of his two other subways he owns and I told him that I would work at those too because I had a car. He then thanked me, and I thanked him for the interview, then I left.
I think I represented myself well, but the Subway is next to my school, and I couldn't help but look at the school when I was talking about my clubs. I had eye contact with the owner for the other 2/3 of the time, but that wasn't the first third and first impressions are key. I'm kind of embarrassed about that. I'm also kind of worried about the interview only lasting 10 minutes. Is that normal for a fast food place?

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Pomona, CA (took a day)
Interview was very straightforward. The most important question was whether or not I had any previous experience working in food service and was my availability was. They asked about previous work experience, and since I am a college student they wanted to make sure I would be able to work for some time and have availability with school.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Chicago, IL (took a day)
The interview lasted about 40 minutes, but the manager did most of the talking - she talked about anything from the current economic recess to her personal life. Then at the end, she asked me if I had any questions for her. So I asked her how many vacancies were available, and she replied she was not hiring at the moment. I felt like I completed wasted my time but she encouraged me to leave the application with her in case a position becomes available in near future.

Received and Declined Offer

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Vancouver, BC (Canada) (took 1+ week)
The owner interviewed me. My first impression was "oh ok". As I extended my hand (as a sign of respect), introducing myself to him, he said to me "I don't shake hands. Nothing personal, I just don't.". So, from there, I was like, at the back of my head, "wow, you are something".
The interview went well, I answered all his questions, he asked for references and all that stuff, but, I decided to decline the offer, because, I didn't like how the owner was, before, during and after the interview. For me, being comfortable with the owner, co-workers, etc is very important in every job I'm going to take, because those are the people you are going to spend 8-10 hours a day.

Interviewed May 2010 (took a day)
Easy as could be. I submitted my application and was asked a few, brief questions about my past employment. Later that afternoon, I was called by the manager and told that they had decided to offer me the position.

Negotiation Details
The only thing that I wanted to negotiate was that I had a minimum of thirty hours a week. Since the store I worked for had a couple other stores owned by the franchise, I was able to work within three different stores to make sure I got the hours I needed. It was actually really easy. If you're a reliable, honest worker, Subway is happy to have you and will be willing to work with you.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Petaluma, CA (took a day)
I had a brief interview with the store manager. An energetic, friendly man, who introduced me to the staff and the processes at Subway. A good work environment, and clean business had me itching to work there. I admired the professionalism and quality of product. Throughout the entire experience, I was given the utmost respect and I would recommend a job here to anyone. A great area, location, and store make this the Subway of my dreams. Unfortunately, I could not accept the job offer on outside reasons.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Birmingham, AL (took 5 days)
I applied online and was called back the next day. I was asked to come in for an interview the day after the phone call. The store manager was Indian and had a slight accent but was generally easy to understand. It is by no means a hard interview and doesn't contain any questions that would stump you. Two days after the interview I was called back and told I would work on the weekend. So they didn't really offer me the job, they just hired me without asking if I accepted... Oh well.
