Interviewed Dec 2009 (took 2 days)
Met everybody in the team, most questions are very specific for certain problems or situations. The team that I work less interviewed me together. I met everybody in my team individually. Everybody was very friendly, questions did not sound like hostile or very hard. Since I have tough questions from the hiring manager during the phone interview, the on-site interview seems to be easier. When I came for interview, everybody was very busy, but everybody keep the interview on time, nobody rushed me or delay me for the next person. Other people on the same floor were also friendly, I left most of stuff ( I flew in for interview) at somebody's office and didn't need to carry everything.

Interviewed May 2011 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 weeks)
I applied online to the suntrust website. I was contacted by a Suntrust recruiter two weeks later and asked to do a mini phone interview. The recruiter set up an interview for a week later. I interviewed with two Underwriting managers who are very bubbly. We had a great "conversation" about my skills and what I had to offer Suntrust.

Negotiation Details
Although I had experience I was offered a salary in the mid point of the pay range. I started to negotiate because of my experience but it was not worth a long back and forth situation. I accepted the offer at the mid point because I am excited about the opportunity.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Group/Panel Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 days)
The company conducted an on-campus group interview. The recruiter notified me after my first interview saying that I had made it to the next round. The office seemed more laid back compared to the bigger banks. The three people interviewing me seemed to be from different business areas in the company, and they asked questions to determine if I was a good fit for their business area.

Reason for Declining
I was interviewing for a software engineering role. I wanted to work for a company whose main business focus was in engineering.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Gainesville, FL (took 2 days)
I applied online, and received a phone call a few days later asking if they could schedule me for a phone interview the next day. Phone interview was pretty easy. She then called back the next day and scheduled me for a one on one interview with the bank manager.
The person interview was very relaxed and standard. They told me exactly what they would expect and answered every question I had.
I'm convinced I didn't get the job because it ended up my school schedule was going to end up conflicting a little.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 3 weeks)
Applied on-line, telephone call from hiring recruiter within 2 hours. Scheduled interview with branch manager. Good interview. Friendly Manager. Currently wating for the Area Manager to call me for an interview. Apparently the Area Manager needs to approve who the Branch Managers want to hire and at what salary etc. Called Branch Manager once to follow up and emailed once for a follow up. Typical interview questions.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Johnson City, TN (took 4 weeks)
After an online test, there was a phone interview with a woman from Knoxville that ended by scheduling a 1:1 in JC. It was at the office on Roan St. in the top floor. The banks always seem to have very nice furniture. Standard questions, seemed like a good guy to work for. He had his secretary taking notes. Pretty much regular STARS questions.
Got an offer about 2 weeks later. Went to Knoxville for fingerprints and urinalysis. It turns out I am unable to work for an FDIC insured institution until next year.

Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation about having to rescind the offer. FDIC requires 10 years for certain charges. Their hands were tied. But I would totally work for Suntrust, even if having to start as a teller.

The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Dec 2010 in Atlanta, GA (took 3+ weeks)
1:1 interview with 5 hiring managers. Had a lunch with direct hiring manager. The process was not like formal interview, but rather like chat. Didn't ask lots of my past experience, maybe because i am a new graduate. Was asked about some SAS code, including merging, set. Was asked how to develop a model.
